On this training day, we covered the main elements of basic first aid when coming across a casualty, starting with classroom theory, then a practical demonstration, and finally a mock incident where our team had to locate, assess and attend to a casualty.
The GWSR First Response Team are a department of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, made up of volunteers providing primarily first aid, but also trespass and fire fighting assistance at railway events and busy running days, and maintaining the fleet of over 100 first aid kits across the railway.
