Raised in England I was deprived of my birthright. But I am so proud of my Welsh ancestry. Although I know so little of Welsh, I can speak other languages and think Welsh is the most beautiful. It lacks the harshness of German or the nasality of French. I cannot assess English since it is my first language but it seems best when spoken by the Irish, Welsh or Scots. Spanish is also a nice language to listen to when spoken properly. Welsh seems to made for singing with its soft mutations and soft letters ll and rh. Thank God there is Welsh music on RU-vid for expatriates and folk like me
Donald Edward. I couldn't agree more. My heart and soul belong to Wales although my family left there at the age of 7, for health reasons, and I'm 80 now. I look for all the Welsh music l can find on YT, then l feel like I'm back home when l listen to.it. My Dad's name was Edward Ivor. He was born in Neath, and my Mom came from Cardiff . I have a large family over there but unfortunately l don't know them, and they don't know me.
Arbennig o'dda. Mae gan y ddau lleisiau gwych. I come from the the proudly Welsh speaking area of Ystalyfera and have lived in London for 21 years. I have such ' Hiraeth' listening to this. I go back home often and am still in touch with the Tabernacle Pontardawe where I first learned to play the organ and hear beautiful Welsh hymns. Its fantastic that the tradition is still going. What a wonderful perfromance. Ardderchog !
