How to turn off the TPMS warning light on a GX470.
A quick video on disabling the TPMS warning light on Kate's 2005 GX470. This method will work for all years with some slight changes.
Earlier models will have the green housing (box) for the TPMS module itself. Later years will be blue or red.
The ground wire changed color as well and should be a green wire with red stripe on newer GX470s but is white with a black stripe and brown spots on this 05.

Great video and technique. Thanks. I was a little confused on what wires to link on my 2007. It ended up being blue to green w/ red stripe. Easy peasy, clean, and reversible. Love it.

Best tpms light delete! Going to share in GXOR fb group. Thanks so much. Made it a lot easier to where I didn't have to add a new wire. Best 2 min mod ever. Going to put on new wheels tomorrow and didn't want to get new sensors or take old ones out old wheels.

Awesome! Glad you found it helpful! Just do yourself a favor and get some open ended wire taps or you will spend half your time butchering one like I had to in the video! 😬

@@HeretoWherever I used quick splice connectors. It was able to fit one side cause the wire was small.

Thank you! BTW, I just scrapped the insulation off the white/black and the blue....Twisted together to ground out, and tapped both together. Presto. (And to think I didn't think to check YT for a fix...Been driving around with a piece of tape over the light for 3 years! LOL!)

This worked on ‘04 GX. I got my red wire taps from harbor freight. Make sure you squeeze it hard with a plier. Boom

I went through a bunch of post on GXOR, club Lexus, and Ih8mud. I can't find the specific post but between those 3 groups you can find out just about anything!

I did the same thing and when I plugged it in, my dash lit up like a Christmas tree and the navigation screen went into diagnostics mode. Any clue why?
@HeretoWherever

No idea. I would try reversing everything and see if the problem persists. Also you could try verifying your wiring and making sure no other wires are exposed where they could short out. After all the above see if maybe the connecter is loose in the tpms module module where it might not be making full contact? That one is puzzling.

@@HeretoWherever figured it out. Mine was wired in a different order, and I mistook the pink wire for the white one (colorblind) 😭 thanks again for the video, a buddy helped me and we made it happen.

My 09 has a red tpms box and this hack didn’t work. Are the wires you ground different on the red box?

Chris I'm really not sure on those this the only GS I've ever owned. Anyone else watching this want weigh in and help my man out? 🤔

Yeah, I have an '08 with the red box. My wiring diagram from Identifix, along with forum posts, suggest you need to connect to 5V (not 12!) and not ground. I'm about to do the job this morning, so maybe I'll post if it works and how.

I did it. Stabbed myself with the pick a few times, eventually drawing blood, trying to remove what looks like the locking mechanism of the AMP connector. In the end, I realized it only needs to be lifted out slightly. It's held in place with two tabs on the side, and there are arrows pointing to a little hole where I inserted the pick and pried up a little. Then, I stuck a de-pinning tool into the little hole on pin 5, pulled out the blue wire. Stuck some hook-up wire into the loose end of the blue wire, shoved the other end of the hook-up wire into the back side of pin 6 (green/red) for 5V. The blue wire is marked "IND" for indicator on the wiring diagram. I tucked the wires back into the sleeve, wrapped it up, and it's fixed. No cutting, no soldering, no splicing, completely reversible. The only lasting evidence is some mangled plastic on the AMP connector. It's probably hard to tamper with them and not mark the plastic at all.
