Győr is really one of my favorite cities in Hungary. I woke up that morning with the only thought in my mind being: ok make it to Győr. I was a man on a mission.
Despite the cold.... wait, just watch the video. I'm going to use these 5,000 words that I get to practice my writing. Right now I am writing a novel. The working title is "Milennial Exhibition". And the story is a time travel story.
My main character is a girl from East London called Penelope. She grew up next to a place called London Fields and her downstairs neighbor was named Trish and Trish's son Steve was a traumatic figure in her recent past. but that is not important. At least not yet. What is important is that Penny decided to move to Budapest in the fall of 2019. And 'move' shouldn't really be seen as such a dramatic word, because Penny was always moving.
She was a traveler Penny. At least for the past year and a half. And as she moved from place to place around Europe she picked up working at hostels as a way to stay on the cheap and sometimes even make a bit of cash. It wasn't really for socialization, at least not at first. But soon Penny began to love the traveling lifestyle and hostels and the colorful characters that made their way through the various institutions she stayed at. Sometimes for three months at a clip even. The longest spell was in Sarajevo, just before Budapest. But that was not a good spell.
In fact, that was arguably the worst experience of any kind that Penny had ever had in her life. She still shuddered when she thought about the last day...
But now she was in Budapest, and though not necessarily in the highest spirits upon arrival - reasonably so I might add - the charm of the old Magyar capital was beginning to cheer Penny up.

Something a bit silly - perhaps [[[[ example of Hungarian dark wit...dark humor ... ruin pub...ruins...eclectic... odon lechner....szecessio themed ... history themed ... perhaps.... the lufi ... the varosliget... dohany utca...tobacco road ... sisi ... erzsebetvaros... Sisi ...
Back to Győr. Aka Arrabona. Lovely city. Great buildings. Friendly people.
Charlie Kisfaludy, that woman and her poofy dog, the puspok by the cathedral, those girls on the stone wall, kids by the kaptalan domb, bahia shop, all the signs for the shops, those little toy box like signs, a devil with spurs drinking some wine, pair of golden scissors, golden boat as well, jogging in circles around the cobblestones, soaking the history, downloading the history, the atmosphere, the cold, drained away grey skies of mid october. Statues, covered fountains, river side spots, ruined pubs, metallic circles, all of the things flooding by as the day flushed away and I was left sinking my teeth into a burger.
Is this really the only way I can find the proper patience to write down my stream of concsiousness thoughts, I need to learn to type accurately while my eyes are closed because if I can do that I can truly meditate back into the far away past...not that far away actually... 1896.. describe what you see...men all dressed in suits mostly, some poorer boys scuttling around in dirty rags, shoeless, almost exotic and oriental in some parts of the city...the smell of horse shit everywhere...pungent, omnipresent.... ahh, alright, lets save this for another time, I have TV2 coming over to film me car.....
