Wow, great voices! Gummy, Kay and Ichiyanagi are spot on :D But I always imagined Edgey with a deeper voice like in his Japanese trailers haha. Mikagami and Shigaraki's characters are off but I guess that can't be helped if it was released before the game :) Mikagami is very elegant and eloquent, gentle but fierce when she has to be. Shigaraki is someone who nobody takes seriously most of the time :P Haha But great job, so awesome!!
@Jlcthemouse thank you for your critique. I can at least speak for Edgeworth as one of the best I have. This isn't the only project I've worked on with him as Edgey. We've also done audio-dramas where I find his take very smooth and pretty awesome. The argument with Mikagami (voiced by myself), we went off of subtitles that were done previously and as much as we tried, we couldn't get them to match perfectly. It's also my first time editing a dub. Thanks much; critique is appreciated. :)
@tutuboy95 - heh, all I've gotten is constructive critique, so I've come to accept it, and when it's put kindly as it is here, I even appreciate it. :) Edgeworth, though, I will always "stand up" for. I understand folks hear him as lower and all. But the lovely Mr. Hall has become my head canon. He does the role for my audios as well, and truly plays the role with every bit of awesome he has. He's also very reliable and dedicated. So thank you, but I'm keeping him til the end :)
@EwHowGross - Thanks for the words! Re: Shigaraki - yeah at the time I knew very little about the character. Only just bought a copy of GK2 recently this past weekend, and seeing his other animations and facial expressions, I would've directed my VA a bit differently.
I thought it was rather good. Jlcthemouse is right about Edgeworth. He's lacking presence. Gumeshoe and Kay were excellent. That new prosecutor was pitch perfect. That lady justice needed some work, but she had her moment when facing Edgeworth. Finally, the new defense attorney was brilliant as well. It has promise. I look forward to great things.
@narutorox123456 - I've worked with these people before. They're reliable and they're talented. That is all I feel that I have to share. My casting decisions are exactly that. The VAs I cast were cast because they can DO the job with passion and talent. That's all.
@smbzfan2 - Online quick often, so my responses come quick. But yes, I have let some of my best VAs know about the fan translation. :) What they do from there is up to them :D
@tutuboy95 He really does :) Some folks say he's too softspoken or quiet. But quite frankly, Edgeworth is only an "IN YOUR FACE!!" (for lack of a better expression :)) guy in court or during an argument. I see him as a Sherlock Holmes type. Very cool, collected, but then very passionate when he's doing what he does best at a crime scene. I highly encourage visiting our blog (link on my channel page) to hear his more solid work. The dub wasn't the BEST material. Audios are more solid.
Yumihiko's voice amuses me so much. His arrogance and snootiness are captured very nicely, yet still letting his blatantly overbearing stupidity shine through. I think it needs to be a bit higher-pitched and condescending, though - as if he was ridiculing everyone else (namely, Edgeworth), and not just full of himself (which he is). As for Shigaraki, I think his voice needs to be sassier. The gruff-sounding and serious tone just don't fit him very well, knowing his personality.
@narutorox123456 And frankly I didn't say you did XD The beauty of this series is that there are no solid voices to tie us down. Text based, it's open to interpretation. My Gumshoe here has been GREATLY praised for example, and Edgeworth plays the character with great skill and understanding (see our audio dramas). I have a reliable group of VAs; not changing them, but thanks :) And thanks for the offer, I'll take it to consideration :)
If you don't mind constructive criticism, Edgeworth's voice is a little too high-pitched, plus Gumshoe, Minagami, and Shigaraki need more emotion. But everyone else is spot on, and I say, I like the voices for the most part (except again for the Edgeworth - good voice, but Edgeworth should probably be deeper). Overall, nice work.
@Clearwateralchemist I encourage all to go look at our blog and see some other work then :D We just put up a new project that's getting some high praise :D Thank you for you critique :)
@narutorox123456 - I was raised with a theater director's mentality. Actors play characters, not other actors. As a wise friend once said, if you want dead on exact, why not listen to the original? Thank you for your input.
