Can confirm neck workouts, I was a boxer in HS, I used to work out my neck daily by lifting sacks of chicken feed with my head (grew up on a farm). It looked dumb and I had a stupid big neck, but I could take solid hits a lot better and when I got into Jiu Jitsu it was damn near impossible to choke me out. These days the main benefit is that I can carry my kids around by my neck and head.

That reminds me, where I live, the women often walk long distances with a huge sack of animal feed on their head in balance (not supporting it with their hands or anything). I probably live in a country with women having the strongest neck and I was clueless all these years.

6:40 mad respect to those who don't know he was doing wrestling moves and it was damn impressive. All the others were funny but that one made me annoyed because I wrestle myself and know how much work it takes and his moves were wrestling moves. He was doing takedown shots, standing up and throwing the arm off him from the opponent and sprawling to defend from shots.

@EATSHIT Are you? I've had knee issues since I was a young teen, and have had intensive ankle surgery. I can't get full ROM when doing squats, because of it. (I opt for leg press instead typically) It also kinda looks like the machine is inhibiting him, seeing as his feet are going under the sides. He could just be ego lifting, but regardless, what he's doing isn't nearly as bonkers as what everyone else in the video is doing.

Also, are you unaware of the fact that most people get a gym membership because they don't have space to workout at home? Myself included. If you have the space to do wrestling drills at home, that's great for you.

I actually trained with waaay heavier weights then i should've my first few months, I got injured in my shoulder and hasn't really recovered in 3 years now. Cant stress it enough that less is more and taking it calm is key. You see way to many at the gym do insanely fast reps with a lot of weight.

This. Your first focus should be form. Do it a bit lighter than you know you are capable to begin with. And if you're hitting a plateau don't immediately go heavier. Just do more, say if you do 12 do 15, and then move onto heavier weights. The last part is unimportant at light weights but the heavier you go the more that will help you

working out fast is straight up stupid. the slower, the harder and also more precise. I mean, don't go slowmotion unless you want to, but then you are training your muscles in a whole different way. But working out fast does nothing but give you sore joints and stiffness.

@Jason McAllister It's called a suicide grip (now you know why) - where you put your thumbs behind the bar on the same side as your fingers instead of in front. For some people it is better on the wrists as the bar supposedly is meant to sit more comfortably on the palms but it is not worth the risk because the bar could roll or slip out as the thumbs are not there to catch it.

Also the machine that came up a few times you didn’t recognize is for dips and pull-ups. You can place your knees (for dips) or your feet (for pull-ups) to help take some body weight off so you can get the whole range of motion. The more weight you put on, the lighter you’ll feel doing those movement. Good place to start if you can’t do those movements for your body weight

The gym is Planet Fitness, often mockingly called "Planet Fatness" because they are known to incentivize people with pizza parties and soda, or sometimes "Planet Circus" because, well, case in point.
