Oh ! My God love your layout 😅 I wish there was still 1/43 digital track set.

Great layout. How did you get the cars to switch lanes?

The same way your Carrera Digital 132 works, by adding a digital decoder into the cars. I also use the Control Unit and other features of the Digital 132 system. But Carrera unfortunately stopped making Digital 143, so there are no switch lanes anymore. :/

How did you get ur car to slide so well?

These are SCX Compact (Spain manufacturer) slot cars. They have a rotating slide guide and not just a pin like the Carrera 143 cars. Then I remove the magnet, add about 2.5g of weight on the front and a mini digital decoder (MPL or FT third party decoder). It's the easiest way to get very well driving cars in 1:43 :)

@@racevisionthanks for the details, these cars race beautifully. One question, I have noticed that if you remove the magnet the car just don’t have enough traction, is too light, apart to put some weight on the front, wouldn’t you need to put weight on the back as well?

Hi! Since a while I have been looking into racing at home - but I cannot seem to decide on whether to go for Carrera (1/24) or Dr!ft (or Mini-Z) .... Any thought on what is the best for home-racing? I also don't find any video on this comparison, that is why I ask the question here :) Thanks in advance!

Hm... that's hard to tell, but I will try to give some hints :) I think one of the most important things are your friends or local clubs, you can't race alone. I decided for slot racing 1:43 because it's not as expensive and I can do it at home. I can provide everything for the races, track and cars. So I can enjoy spontaneous races with friends, their wife's and children anytime we want. Even friends which are not deep into cars or don't want to tinker around enjoy the track and races because it's very easy to learn. I would love to race with Dr!ft cars. But not a lot of my friends would buy a little rc car for 200 bucks and there is no club here. Basically I could provide 6 cars for the same price of the slot car track, but everyone needs a capable smartphone and it's a lot a harder for kids and people which are not used to gaming. So, talk to your friends, decide together or join a existing club. No matter what you race, you will have fun with the right amount of people doing it, regularly!

@@racevision Thanks so much for your feedback, man. Really appreciate it! You are absolutely right: you need people around you with the same passion - I am not looking forward to racing alone. Would get bored of it rather quickly. But that might indeed be the biggest hurdle. You are almost forced into setting up a race club to start (and maintain) this hobby. In terms of racing: have you ever raced with Dr!ft? Is it any fun to drive? I only find a few (non-German :p) in-detail reviews. I was hoping they would also start with 1:32 or even 1:24 scale as I find them much nicer looking :) Cost not really an object, I just want simulation- grade home racing :)

@@elcordinho2202 No unfortunately I never driven Dr!ft cars. They 'just' simulate proper car behavior but in a very good way. So why shouldn't they make fun :) Personally I own a 1:10 Tamiya RC car. If I put hard plastic (drift) tires on it it transforms into a AWD drifter. But all my old contacts stopped with that hobby. I guess that's the price of getting old(er) :) It's even possible to combine slot racing and Dr!ft -> Search for 'DR!FT vs. Slot Car Track' in YT. But that's a wooden track. Don't think it will work on a plastic track. Personally I maybe would buy one or two Dr!ft cars (or other RC car, but I like drifting) and see if I can get people into it. Or getting one in addition to the slot track if I find people to race with. Whatever brings you. I wish you all the best for your future hobby!
