Kalbelia Tribe in the Thar Desert in Northern The Kalbelia. These nomads are a snake charming tribe from the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, India.
Gour Banjaras have different cultural life and practices that differentiate them from others. They also have their own language, food habits, body tattooing, dress and ornaments, art , Martial art, Gorilla fighting skill, 'Ghumar' dance, and festivals and ceremonies, which have formed their culture. Gor Banjara culture includes their language, costume, marriage customs, festivities, folk and performing arts, and many other capabilities acquired by them. Their culture with its language and professions seems distinct and different from other tribes. Gour Banjara culture is known as Rajputana culture. They have their own language called ‘Banjara’,' Brinjari' or ‘Gormati’ and a different and distinct culture of their own.

The first thought that came to my mind is of the Roma people. This is how their ancestors arrived in Europe from India on bull carts and walking on their feet, walking thousands of miles. The women carried their children in their wombs. It is amazing they survived and thrived. This is what the ancestors of the Roma were like before coming to Europe. They must have been putting up music shows like this for the Europeans they met to earn some money. Their story is one of survival. Simply amazing. The Indian government should offer Indian citizenship to the Roma people if they wish to return home. They suffered so much in Europe and Hitler almost exterminated all of them. Most people only know about the plight of the Jews but these people suffered even more for long before Hitler arrived. So beautiful!! Please document these people some more. Just incredible. I think if the Roma people see this they will have pride in themselves and try to rise up from the ashes. This story has never been told.

Roma are not ashamed of there identity. They have been faced racism for 100 0f years. Hitler was first killing them before Jews. All of europe and even India there homeland treated this beautiful good people as sub human. they did what ever they had to do to survive. I have always felt that I am Indian, since I was little and I used to go to the cinema with my parents to watch an Indian film, I noticed the linguistic similarities and I was surprised that I understood some Indian words, because they were found in our vocabulary that we spoke, parents my people had customs like those of the Indians, they ate with their hands, and we have a lot of customs similar to the Indians, this means that they have been preserved very well during such a long period of 1000 years, and now at my 60th birthday, I hope we will be recognized by the authorities Indians as a minority, we are lost by our country India!

These are not kalbeliya these are called Gadiya Lohar Tribe which move from one place to another place on bullock carts. These inspired by Maharana Pratap who was the king of Mewar. When Mewar fell to the Mughals, Maharana Pratrap ran to the forest where he met these people who helped him and his family. They pledged never to return to their homeland, never to settle anywhere else, and never to live under a roof until Maharana Pratap won Chittorgarh back. 🙏🏻 proud to be Rajasthani and Indian

We Roma were Punjabs and calè were rayputs Rajasthan .. we were all Rayput soldiers and servants ..this cast could be the ancestors of Dhomari Domari .. but man I can recognize the singing tone of the woman is the same way traditional folklore roma woman’s sing .. the rhythm 🥁 is very similar also and the melodies of the violin is also very similar .. so there are similarities .. but god knows now because we all mixed with each other and outsiders as well .. but Roma and calè 10th century ghaznavi’s destroyed us as a military rayput with our king and taken us out of India as prisoner of war for trying to defend our selfs .. god bless Hindu brothers and sisters and god bless all of India 🇮🇳 = ☸️😘🙏
