This was great, but the guitarist needs to calm down a bit. He’s a great player, don’t get me wrong, but his solo seemed more like he was trying to showcase how fast he could play than actually feeling the music. It was way too busy, especially for a ballad like that. There are times to play like that but not in a song like this.
Olli's Solo: Technical perfection, dynamic perfection, emotionally and feelingwise absolutely on point. I am sorry, but if You don't like it, it has more so to do with personal taste. If it's not "the best" for You... i think no guitar player in the world will do. I Personally see Olli Soikkeli in the same league as Joscho Stefan who i consider as one of the best players in the world. Or maybe You mean "not the best" in terms of comparison with Jason's outstanding violin solo. In either case, music is not a competition and even if it was, i would bet on my friend Olli. :) Please leave less disrespect next time. Try to put at least the amount of work and brain cells into your comment as the musicians put into their music. cheers.
