I, unfortunately had a bad time using it. I was cutting vellum and the blade kept turning on me so i couldn't keep a straight line... it would pivot and stop me so that i had to turn the blade every time by hand. I cut lots of stencils for my job and thought this would help but my vellum is probably too thick🙁
The GYRO-CUT will cut watercolor paper and cardstock up to around 240gsm (thin card). It will also cut Mylar stencil material and thin acrylic sheet (4 mil maximum thickness). Please see the GALLERY section on the homepage of our website at craftyproducts.co.uk where there are photos of Mylar stencils cut using the GYRO-CUT tool.
The GYRO-CUT tool will cut cardstock up to around 240gsm (thin card) as well as Mylar stencil material (4 mil maximum), acrylic sheet and we are now working on a version to cut fabric. Hope you decide to give it a try :-)
I'm finding this impossible to use. I'm trying to cut shapes for stencils on very thin mylar. But anytime I bring the tool down to the mylar to start the cut, the blade always seems positioned at an angle, and I cannot get it to follow any lines. I just can't figure how on earth I get this blade to start out in the correct position - i.e. straight towards the line I am trying to follow, not at some odd angle. I'm just finding it impossible to have any kinds of control of the cutting process and have reverted back to using a scalpel!
B Meredith-Vadala Sorry to hear you are having difficulty using our Gyro-Cut tool. The Gyro-Cut blade is quite different to other craft tool blades in that it does not have a very sharp cutting edge and it is designed to cut on the point or tip of the blade. This is achieved by keeping the blade in a vertical plane whilst cutting. The point will follow the direction of your hand and cut the material to the required shape. For Mylar you will need to apply moderate to firm downward pressure to ensure an even cut. I hope this helps. Crafty Products Customer Service Team.
Here in the USA the Gyro Cut is 14.00 usd after tax with no extra blades which is pricey but I have seen many independent reviews that give the tool high praise and if it does what people claim then well worth the money! How are the blades replaced as a paper artist I go through many traditional pen knife exel blades ..but it looks like a different type of blade ?Spending 14 bucks everytime the blade gets dull is steep and bad for the enviroment. But I am ordering it and will let you know !
The Gyro-Cut tool is designed to cut thin materials up to around 240gsm (Birthday card thickness). We do not have a cutter for 5mm foam board...............sorry.

We are now selling in the USA through Notions Marketing and a number of independent stores have picked up the line. I don't know of any stores in Canada selling the product yet. The GYRO-CUT tool is now available on our US website which is gyrocutusa.com. Hope this helps.
parfaite votre manipulation, quelle est la marque de votre appareil ? le mien ne tourne pas comme le votre et arrache le papier. c'est sans doute une mauvaise fabrication, donc la marque doit avoir son importance.
Please visit our website at www.craftyproducts.co.uk and click on the Gyro-Cut PRO tool. Thanks for your interest in our products. Regards, Noel Crafty Products Ltd
Autotype Japan had better product made of steel with swivel 2mm blade to cut their rubyred" acetate film for silkscreen printing.Blade was held by grease in a bit larger tiny pipe and this all resembled to one side of a compass that makes circles in geometry. Also angle was adjustable. This was in 1993.This product resembles that tool.
Is there a website for this company or perhaps a name I can look up? I found a similar tool to what you’re describing and I was wondering if it’s the same. Thanks!
