The quick answer is if you need hot and high performance, always fly towards MAUW OR need the climb performance then definitely. If your alternative was a 914 power then its still yes!

You have now qualified for a TUB-V. you my ask whats a TUB-V Yes you may!! Its my very special rating for select people You are one of the extremely few. CONGRATULATIONS Okay ...i did my best to make it sound as corny as possible. TUB-V = Thumbs Up Before Viewing I just give you a T'up and then watch the video ...you know just in case i get so engrossed in watching and searching for more that I forget. The two others are Trent Palmer and Mike Patey. Cheers ...keep up the great work.

You probably dont care but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few months :)

Hi Stu, do you have fuel burn figures for the 912 & 914? I flew a 912 flexwing with a fuel burn of 8 litres/hr but the cruise was about 60mph. Would be nice if you could sign off your vids instead of ending so abruptly. Keep up the good work mate, you've got me interested in aviation again. Is that you I sometimes see flying over Oswestry?

Hello Pete - 912 is around 13 litre an hour with 914 15L at around 70mph cruise. Gyroplanes are drag machines! Could have been me last year otherwise like a guy who flies out of the Long Mynd.

Great stuff. Left a bit 'up in the air' (sorry) re your stance on the 915. I'm in New Zealand with a new Cavalon 914 and the new rotor head. Wondering if I might have been better with a 915 but then again the MAUW issue is creeping in... Absolutely love my gyro but no recreational flying lately because of you-know-what. On the matter of wheel balance in other videos - I find I have to flatten the rotor a lot, i.e. stick well forward to counteract the drag to achieve speed increase. I think wheels all still on the ground - certainly the mains - until flying speed (60-ish kts.) and good rotor speed (200 - 300). Then the t/off lift is amazing. David L

If you already have the 914 then it’s only climb performance that is the main difference and most flights have one big climb out initially then cruise. On the take offs yes some forward stick helps most in Cavalon because of the CoG especially if you are full of fuel. Don’t over do the forward stick - my advice is pre-rotate to 220, stick fully back, brake release and ground roll - see a +ve rotor speed increase and once around 250 rrpm then ease stick forward a fist / fist and a half then at 300 rrpm the aircraft should ready to unstick and here it’s stick forward enough to hold a nice take off attitude and allow the aircraft to fly. If rotor rpms ever decay below 180 initially then you must close the throttle and bring the aircraft to a stop with back stick.

I have a 915, I would not fly a smaller engine again, its like going back to a 4 cylinder car after owning a V8.. Lol

The aviation engine are over priced the 915 is about $16000.00 dollars it’s like medical stuff over priced also !
