I think Boo is the prize, and he's also the sunshine to Mingyu. I frequently watch clips of them in slo mo and am sometimes surprised at what I see. Like the clip of them in blue and white, I noticed something I didn't notice before in all the many times I've watched it. I think it's funny (tho not really) that Mingyu is so tall and good looking, but it makes no difference to how he feels when Boo is getting attention. One could argue that Mingyu could probably have any girl (or boy) he wanted, but it doesn't stop his jealousy when Boo's attention is on someone else. Great clip, thank you!
i personally understand mingyu here, in a friendship pov, since i kinda always get gloomy and lil' jealous seeing my friends giving other more attention than me hahahah
I also have friends like this. There is this one who doesn't talk to me after having fun interacting with someone. Me be like, "here we go again". And there's this one that confronted me that she got jealous. 😅

@4:44 - this i think was because Seungkwan was kind of getting exasperated during that bickering with Vernon. So Seungkwan was reaching the point where he either had to let it go and laugh at himself, or get his feelings hurt. When Seungkwan saw Mingyu, he was able to quiet his pride and just let it go. So i think the sight of Mingyu was actually a relief/shot back to reality that broke the tension for Seungkwan. "It's okay, you can let it go" type thing. @6:29 - Seungkwan is the default variety MC and this is something Mingyu was developing on his own at that time, so I think in this instance was him wanting to make a big display of that to others (or actually get seungkwan's opinion on something - but i think I was too blatant/obvious for it to be genuinely that. A more mature example of what I'm thinking is in the first "Don't Lie," when Mingyu asks Seungkwan's opinion on if he should pretend to be the cop or not - he trusts Seungkwan's variety intuition + making a big production of it strengthens the "variety duo" image between him and Seungkwan, which I think he really values) @7:05 boy no one can explain this away, what are you dooooing mingyu 😭😭 @7:41 - i think this is just an example of Mingyu wanting to be close and enjoying Seungkwan's presence/touch. @8:09 - yes this is my favorite example of possessive Mingyu!!!!!! it goes on for SO LONG omg. i think it's bc seungkwan looks particularly cute that day and he wanted to get a reaction out of him so bad @9:17 i think Mingyu is offering support here in a laugh. like "Yeah i can tell you were frustrated lololol" type moment. @9:38 i'm excited to see your analysis on this one - i think mingyu didn't like that his image was getting dragged, he can accept it from Seungkwan because it was Seungkwan's "gift" and he gives Seungkwan a lot more leeway than other members but he didn't appreciate dino speaking for seungkwan, he can hear it from Seungkwan!! @10:04 YEP he is trying to make sure everyone knows HE LOVES SEUNGKWAN and SEUNGKWAN LOVES HIM. lol Dk's annoyance here lol. Basically i think Mingyu tends toward being jealous... but he also just genuinely LIKES Seungkwan, feels protective of him as his hyung, feels exceptionally close to him, values his skills as an MC, admires him as a comedian. He takes care of Seungkwan very well. so he has a lot of reasons to interact with him and watch him. So it's not just motivated by jealousy. I think also Mingyu and Seungkwan understand each other, so Seungkwan is relaxed when he's around Mingyu in a way we don't see with the other members, and sometimes that involves being a bit more bratty because he's not as concerned with keeping up the charming MC image. Like he can allow himself to throw a fit in a way he would NEVER do with Woozi or DK because he's constantly taking care of them/their image. @13:15 I want to talk a little bit about the concept of gyuboo in terms of a brand. It's hard to talk about this because i feel like acknowledging fanservice gets people defensive like the ship isn't real. but the fact that they push Gyuboo so much says to me that this is a ship that both Mingyu and Seungkwan are comfortable with fans imagining and shipping and they understand it on that level. So I think that's important to keep in mind in some of their interactions, too. I think Mingyu has more EI than you're giving him credit for - when he plays up his interactions with Seungkwan, he's securing screentime for both him and Seungkwan, and he's confirming that Seungkwan is a desirable member. I think Seungkwan values that. Mingyu is also very generous in complimenting Seungkwan and calling him pretty (saying he has pretty legs, pretty eyes, cute cheeks, etc) Mingyu knows how that will come across and I think he believes it, but he's also making a point of saying it. You said some of this in the video, but I wanted to add more context. Seventeen has said that during their rookie years they had a LOT of rules and they were really strict with each other (no sleeping in the vans during trips, everyone eats together, etc) the rule about not interacting much with other groups was because of Seventeen's precarious position. They were huuuuge rookie group and they didn't want to splinter off, create rumors, or drama. They wanted to be a unified front. On stage, Seventeen is Seventeen. They're MUCH more relaxed about this nowadays because the Seventeen brand is so secure. Seungkwan has always been a social butterfly, so he was the one most often breaking that "seventeen only" rule. Mingyu is focused on Seungkwan a lot, so he was the one calling him back in most often. The reason why Seungkwan defers so quickly (especially in that iconic moonbin one) is because Mingyu is reminding him of the GROUP rule. I'm bringing this up because if Mingyu was actually just acting out of personal jealousy all these times, and Seungkwan was cowed back by just his jealousy... that would actually be really unhealthy and weird. It's because Seungkwan was breaking a group rule.
And at 3:44 Jun is watching Boo and Vernon playing together but Jun looks like he's done as in "I can't believe they're doing again". But Jun is a good hyung so when he sees Mingyu coming he moves over to him to I guess stop him from coming over so Mingyu just does his jealous boyfriend glare from a distance and then walks away with Jun instead walking over to Boo and Vernon like he usually does. Jun gets the #1 BFF Award for the day. lol

Can you do a analysis of boogyu in kbs song festival 2021 ending fancam. There is a lot of seungkwan and mingyu interaction. And I somewhat felt mingyu looking at seungkwan when he talks with mingyu. 😅
Friends can be jealous too. You can be jealous of your friend getting close and becoming friends with someone else. Jealousy isn't exclusive to only one type of relationship.
Interesting. What I notice about Boo's interaction with Jungkook and BTS is: 1) At 2:07 SVT members and other idols greet Jungkook but only Boo stops to chat privately with him. 2) J-Hope, whose second job is to keep BTS out of trouble at awards events, sees this at 2:23 & 3:17 and looks down toward SVT to see who noticed. Perhaps he was also looking for Mingyu. Then at 3:19 when Mingyu has shown up and told Boo to move to his spot ☹ this catches Jimin's attention and he turns around (and you know Jimin is known for stirring things up at events) but at 3:25 J-Hope puts both his hands up as if to block Jimin from getting into SVT and JK's business. And in the end JK, Jimin, BTS, and the rest of SVT just ignore the jealousy drama unfolding on stage. Are they all used to seeing it or do they just don't want the cameras to capture more? And is this the real reason why Boo can't talk to other idols at events -- not because SVT is jealous but because they don't want Mingyu acting up and embarrassing everyone?
