Music video by GZA performing Cold World ft Inspectah Deck Celebrating 25 years of the debut solo release of Gza’s “Liquid Swords” #GZA #Coldworld #InspectahDeck #LiquidSwords #VEVO #OfficialMusicVideo
@dj qb Yeah but he bombs atomically, Socarates philosophies cant't define how he be dropping these mockeries, he also committed armed robberies and fleed with the lottery.
"Whether, pro-calistenthic, any style you set it beat niggas toothless, physically cut-up like gooses. But with iron on the sides, thugs took no excuses. Therefore, your fifty-two handblocks was useless"
@@dassolosyndikat5113 idk about that man, "but with iron on the side thugs took no excuses therefore your 52 handblocks was useless" this is obviously GZA's pen game
@@fdation first commenced vibin to this track today on a subliminal unsaturated morning lackin blue in the skies, coincides well wit top comment aforementioned above and yo description 🎯
@@danielbuezo9910 karma accumulates the deconstruction of our human nature. Soon, you'll be that poor sucker who faces the lollipop conversion and life changes up real quick on ya, don' bash yo cortex lobes too much trying to comprehend my response
@@jamaaldavis7907 MOS(t) DEF(initely), but I was a bit ironic in my response. However, it wouldn’t hurt to perform a Google search to clarify who or what I am referring to. Peace.
Perfect balance......the interplay between Deck and The GZA is one of Hip-Hop’s unrealized Jewels... I wish they had collaborated more extensively like Ghost and Rae.
@dj qb 🤔 but he bombed atomically, with Socrates philosophies and hypothesis.. You know he sent cats back to the lab with that one... Man..... what about “Guillotine” on the Purple Tape? “Above the Clouds” with GURU.. Deck is nice. His entire album was a remake cause RZA crib got flooded with his original tapes.. Word is it was classic...
George, in another life I’m hoping we can listen to that flooded Deck record together. Besides Triumph what’s your favorite Deck verse not on Chambers? Mine is Hollow Bones. But you are right that this is a perfect pairing … balance.
This right here is a gem...this is 💯% real hip-hop without any filler or glamour or flashy suits. The real deal! I feel lucky to have been a teenager in the 90's when many legends dropped albums that could be played without a single skip of any track. The good old days!!
I try to understand why some of these mumble rappers are getting titles like “the best rapper of all time” and none of these legends are event mentioned… what am I missing😬
@@jameswatson2894 it’s sad you assume people state things for likes. If you don’t agree or you do agree it’s on you. But please don’t assume I wrote this for you or any other’s approval. The thought came to my mind and I expressed it. Now keep it moving, sir.
@@jamilnichols1558 You may be right, but I don’t have the time nor the will to search for music like that anymore. I know I’m probably missing out on some good or great stuff, but... 🤷🏽♂️
@@jamilnichols1558 Honor shouldnt have to search for it. Wu was readily available and accessible when they came out. Why do I have to play discoverer to find quality Hip Hop. That's a problem if Cardi B is more known than Mick Jenkins.
Right! In East Germany, we did not learn the English language, and when the wall went down, we were just vibing through the night in the car with RZA (WU) tunes. We had no clue what the heck they were actually talking about, but this universal vibe RZA created out of these old samples. What a creative time...
The Wu got me into kung fu, world philosophy and world warrior cultures from Musashi to Shaka Zulu. 42 years old, self employed black daoist and antiques dealer still bumping the Wu in 2021!
GZA You have no idea how high you are on my list and how much you're the reason I I rap the way I do now. I put you right up there with Nas, Eminem, Rakim, Kane, and Black Thought, Canibus, etc. You're the favorite of 90's intellectual Hip-Hop heads. Still waiting for the next album. May you continue success. -Regards
word up brother! You seen the GZA at NPR Tiny Desk? OMFG! Recommended If you cant find it on RU-vid it is the start of our Oldskool Playlist. Light and Love fellow #OGS! 🙏
On everything bro, one of the coldest of all time. Didn’t grow up with this music but I’m glad I can appreciate it and not get caught up with the mainstream garbage today. Peace god, hopefully dark matter is coming out in the next few years
yo it was so ill how other Wu members show up in the videos....that used to always get me hyped.....meth, rza, masta killa, rae, ugod......fot this classic Gza record. There was something in the air during this era of the wu.....a great refreshing sound and imagery.
Man…the lyrical precision, metaphors, wordplay, and deepness on this track is on another level. I remember bumping this in high school. Listening to this as an adult gives me a whole other perspective. Unfortunately, hip hop like this no longer exists.
I use to work at this gas station overnight and blast the Gza album and at the time my white friends didn't understand what they were talking about but now they know every word. Time changes alot
They don't make em like this no more. The Griselda camp, 38 Spesh, Dza, Roc Marciano, RJ Payne, Dave East & TDE the closest we getting to the Golden Era again
Less charismatic but lyrically superior to most of his compadres in Wu. The Wu Mcee that demands multiple listens to appreciate his craftsmanship. Wu has something for everyone.
It's amazing to me that even though sometimes there are language and cultural barriers....some artist are able to penetrate that and reach their listeners...that's when you know the movement is real...✊✊
Still the best rap album in my oppinion. Cold, stylish, melancholic. From 1997, when I heard it for the first time, till now. High five from cold cold Russia. Genius!
@dj qb I did and do, actually, there is no inconsistency, a lot of modern and not that modern hip hop artists are quite good. Skepta, Stormzy, The Streets, Kojey Radical, Dizzee Rascal, Context, God Colony`s artists, Ram (from Russia), they all have something massive to show, but GZA`s album is still the bestest in my top, the reference from the (36) chamber of weights and measures. I appreciate your oppinion and I`m glad to know that there are big wave of rappers on a scene who wouldn`t let hip hop become a music for old farts.
@dj qb Who is that dope american mc? Could you tell me which modern rappers are on your own A-list? I`d like to listen to something new, but I stuck in new english school, this sound is corresponding close with my vision of hip hop evolution.
[Verse 1: GZA] It was the night before New Year’s And all through the fuckin' projects Not a handgun was silent, not even a TEC Outsiders were stuck, by enemies who put fear And blasted on the spot before the pigs were there You know hoods, robbers, snipers new in sight Fuck blue and white They escape before them flash the fuckin' lights Gunshots shatter first-floor window panes Shells hit the ground and blood stained the dice game Whether pro-calisthenic, any style you set it Beat niggas toothless, physically cut up like gooses But with iron on the sides, thugs took no excuses Therefore, your fifty-two handblocks was useless Linx was snatched off necks, left scars on throats Jackets took, after bullet rips through coats Against those who felt the cold from the steel Made ‘em fold and squeal, once the metal hit the temple of his grill Construction worker, who was caught for his bomber No time to swing the hammer that was hangin' from his farmers And it’s bugged how some niggas catch slugs And pockets dug from everythin' except check stubs And it does, sound ill like wars in Brownsville Or fatal robberies in Red Hook where feds look For fugitives to shoot cops, niggas layin' on roof tops For his C.R.E.A.M he stashed in a shoebox But he was hot, and the strip was filled with young killers You don’t suspect, so cops creep like caterpillars And born thieves stay hooded with extra bullets Those who try to flee, they hit the vertebrae Increase the murder rate Similar to hitmen who pull out TECs and then Drop those who crack like tacos from Mexican Rapid, like recipients cashin' checks again Back to the motherfuckin' spot on Lexington [Chorus: Life] Babies cryin', brothers dyin', and brothers gettin' knocked Shit is deep on the block and you got me locked down In this cold, cold world We be runnin' from the cops, bustin' off shots Shit is deep on the block and you got me locked down In this cold, cold world Verse 2: Inspectah Deck] Yo, no time to freeze, undercovers ease up in Grand Prixs And seize packages and pocket the currency Cliques control strips, full clips are sprayed Yellow tape barricades sidewalks where bodies lay Madness strikes at twelve o’clock midnight Stick-up kids on the ground broke the staircase light And I stays harassed, scramblin' for petty cash Jakes on my ass, young bucks is learnin' fast Three-Fifteen-Sevens and Forty-Fours Bought inside corner stores, provide sparks for wars Hospital floors surrounded by the law Homicide questionin' while the Jakes guard the door My hood stay tense, loyalty puts strength in my team ‘Cause niggas’ main concern is C.R.E.A.M Some niggas in the jet-black Galant Shot up the Chinese restaurant for this kid named Lamont I thought he was dead, but instead, he missed the kid And hit a twelve-year-old girl in the head, and then fled Tactical narcotic task force, back off fast ‘Cause the crime boss is passin' off cash Extortions for portions of streets, causes beef Havin' followers of Indians trying to play Chief You witness the saga, casualties and drama Life is a script; I’m not an actor But the author of a modern-day opera Where the main character is presidential papers, the dominant factor [Bridge: Life] You know, you had me With your sensuous charm But you looked so alarmed As I walked on by [Chorus: Life] Babies cryin', brothers dyin', and brothers gettin' knocked Shit is deep on the block and you got me locked down In this cold, cold world We be runnin' from the cops, bustin' off shots Shit is deep on the block and you got me locked down In this cold, cold world Babies cryin', brothers dyin', and brothers gettin' knocked Shit is deep on the block and you got me locked down In this cold, cold world We be runnin' from the cops, bustin' off shots Shit is deep on the block and you got me locked down In this cold, cold world
This should of have got million views this is one of my favorite tracks off the album the whole album is dope but this one takes me back to them cold snowy Winters in RI . CLASSIC
Toda una OBRA DE ARTE en cuanto al HIP HOP se refiere. GRACIAS INTERNET. Antes del mismo ERA CASI IMPOSIBLE,..escuchar BUEN Y REAL HIP HOP. PD:Sólo esa porquería de regueton.🤢🤮
One of the most iconic, rawest, most beautiful displays of storytelling there is period!!! Classic verses from both Genius & INS & RZA's prod throughout this whole project is exactly why he's considered the best‼‼‼‼‼🥶🥶🥶🥶 Wutang 4ever‼‼‼🐝🐝
Best hip hop album hands down. I have so many memories in high school getting stoned and listening to this CD on repeat. In 2016, GZA performed this entire album at a small concert in San Diego for just $5.00. That was awesome.
This song is not only great because of the beat and the rhythm but, also because it tells a vivid story about life in the streets . It's one thing to be able to talk about the streets but, it's something else when you can make your audience feel like they're actually there in the ghetto and, put it to a good beat . Wutang Clan took rap to a whole new level .
My first time hearing this song and seeing vid, give me chills, still to this day! The visual was more nightmareish, then the song. Still I bump this in my playlist!
“Shout outs to Chinese restaurant for this kid named Lamont I thought he was dead, but instead he hit a twelve year old girl in the head, and then fled” ❄️🌎
