Legacy Labor, Inc. is a licensed Farm Labor Contractor (F.L.C.) providing seasonal agricultural workers throughout the United States. Building a Legacy // Leadership, initiative, exceptional communication, and guidance: these are just some of the traits that combine to build a lasting legacy. As brothers-in-law, David Judah and Justin Bartlett have done many things together-vacation, raise kids, fly, and start a Farm Labor Business. Growing up in rural areas, Judah and Bartlett saw firsthand both the blessings and challenges that came along with farm life. With over 30 years of combined experience in the industry, the pair decided to take matters into their own hands to create a business that would help farms source and maintain labor year after year: Legacy Labor. Many farmers inherit their business from family, establishing a legacy of their own as they continue to grow their business and make strides toward helping their communities. Keeping the farm sustainable as it transitions to a new generation is vital to continuing the legacy of farming in the United States, but sometimes that’s easier said than done. Farms are faced with challenges like uncertainty of yearly weather, soil erosion, climate change, and costs of seed and equipment. Legacy Labor works to remove a common challenge from the equation: labor availability-and dependability. Many of Legacy Labor’s H-2A Visa workers return year over year to earn money for their families in Mexico. Legacy Labor was established in 2020 with that goal in mind: helping growers build upon their legacy by providing quality, sustainable and profitable labor. Categories of workers include greenhouse laborers, produce laborers, and nursery laborers, with services ranging from indoor and outdoor care of plants and transplanting, general labor including harvesting and preparing for shipping. Growers’ time is valuable, so Legacy Labor handles all expenses related to workers including insurance, workman’s comp, transportation to work site and grocery store weekly, and employee management. Legacy Labor currently serves Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, Florida, Massachusetts, Arkansas and Texas, and is looking to expand their service area. Judah and Bartlett, along with their team of workforce and compliance coordinators and administrative assistants, pride themselves on efficient technology and extraordinary service, as well as great communication. They have built a legacy that continues to grow as they meet-and exceed-their clients’ needs.
