A little research on google asking "who makes the HD helmets" comes up with HJC. They are either made in S. Korea, China, or Vietnam. I've installed equipment in one of the factories in S. Korea. They take no shortcuts and the quality control is excellent. If anyone reading this has worked in Asia i.e. SK, China, or VNam for instance knows that the workers and management in these countries are very serious about quality and customer satisfaction.
Oh, and by the way. I own 2 Harley helmets and I am very happy with both. Bought them both when I picked up my Heritage. One is a half helmet with drop down sun visor and the other one is convertible from full face, 3/4, or half with drop down visor.
There both not made in America regardless of what it say on the box. You have to read the label inside of the helmet. (Micro DOT Helmet Co) are made in Texas.
Bought a Badass Carbonair from Orlando Harley ,paid $220 plus tax 1 week into ownership and the clear is seperating from the carbon shell leaving hundreds of small air pocket flaws in tge finish,contacted Badass and they said its my fault for not "looking the helmet over before buying" geeze I thought maybe you could not ship out defective products that fall apart in 1 week Buyer beware ,they arent worth the price and customer support is poo poo
@John Lyon no,I actually live in Daytona Beach and havent had a chance to get back over there Im really disappointed in Badass as a company but after doing some research it seems that customer satisfaction isnt something they strive for
What's the difference between these two helmets? None, whatsoever. Neither will protect you in a crash. A half helmet protects your head in the same way that a T-shirt and jeans protect you from road rash.
Thanks for the comment. It seems that the Department of Transportation disagrees with you. But you are entitled to your opinion. We would have re-written your response to say "A full face provides more protection."
@johnlyon2411 I've had a deer, a horse, and an old lady try to take me out on my bikes. Had I been wearing either one of the helmets profiled in the video in any of those crashes, I'd be dead. The only helmet worth bothering to wear is a full-face helmet.
