One day, when I had long hair, I was walking past a grocery store, and a homeless, balding man with an open wound on his face said, "hey, I used to have hair like that when I was 36." It was my 36th birthday. *My* life is weird.
I absolutely love how Grey had this moment of "OH MY GOD BRADY" at 56:03 with the paper straws. He sounded like a teenage girl spreading gossip. Amazing. Never change Grey.
I work at tech support and I love people who just get straight to the point and follow instructions like I think Grey probably does. Being rude will definitely result in me putting in the least possible effort to help you though.
This is doing a whole "blue and black" dress thing now...where before your comment Grey was certainly on the right always, but now It keeps changing as I think about it while listening. fuck it, they are both on the right, grey is sitting in brady's lap.
Just yesterday, working my way back through the archive, I was listening to Hello Internet #46. Thus, I've just listened to Dr. Haran and Grey discuss Adelaide being in the top 10 most livable cities on Earth twice, back to back. What a nice coincidence! It has sadly lost 4 places on the list in the past 3 years 😢
I always pictured Grey and Brady sitting at their own desks in their living rooms of apartments against the same wall and I am listening to the podcast while watching from one of those movie/TV shots where the wall is dividing the center of the frame so we can see each living space at once. Brady is always on the right side of the screen i'm "watching".
1:16:48 I was helping with a week-long summer camp for around 10 special needs kids at a horse barn, and they loved the pony painting we did on the last day. The horse didn't seem to mind at all, and honestly I think it enjoyed the hosing off afterward since it was pretty hot out. It was cute watching them all do their thing, and since none of them were older than 14 they were all calm and none of them were screaming or anything. Honestly it was a pretty sweet experience and I'm glad they got to do it.
Oddly, I always saw Brady as sitting on the biggest chair. I always saw Grey in an average chair that's really really comfortable, but Brady in a really really big and posh chair with a little awkwardness to typing.
For the Space Force logo, just say screw it and use the Halo UNSC logo. It looks military, looks bad ass, and is needlessly busy like most of the logos the US uses. Honestly I'm impressed how readable the Air Force logo is. There are busier variants, but in general its a very solid logo. Also I'm going to be disappointed if the first planet we colonize isn't called Reach. I don't think in the Halo lore Reach was even the first colonized planet, I just think it's a damn good name for a planet. If they don't use the UNSC logo, they should probably have Earth be on it. I know the idea is to leave Earth, but it seems logical to me to have the logo indicate the "central command" of sorts. Plus a planet is inherently spacey, even if it's our planet. Oh, and to make the UNSC logo work with the name "Space Force", go with "United States Space Force" or USSF. Then we could just call it USSF, which solves the problem of Space Force sounding silly.
That actually looks rally good. Its a great bird overseeing the planet, which at first space force will be about earth orbiting, but is it fitting for space beyond orbit?
I don't imagine them in any spacial dimension at all, and if i do it's always very realistic I imagine grey at his desk looking at his screen where he can see Brady in one window and his audio recording program in another, tabbing over to images of flags when necessary and then i imagine Brady sitting at his desk looking at Grey on his screen (fullscreen), with an entire other monitor devoted to a slow looping montage of pictures Lulu and Audrey
26:44 I always picture Grey and Brady both facing towards me, as if there was a camera on each of their faces, shown to me in split-screen. And I always picture Grey on the left screen and Brady on the right screen. It never even occurred to me that they could be the other way around. I also picture Grey on the left in his other podcast, Cortex. I don't know why!
Brady is always on the right for me, Grey on the left. Ever since I found out they're not in the same room when they record this I also picture them in different rooms when they're talking, Brady in a posh office with a big fireplace, Grey's room is a lot more bare for some reason...very grey.
Gray being the logical half of the duo has always been on the right side for me(left brain controls the right half. And It is mostly concerned with analytical things). The hard as nails Brady, with his hearty tales, is placed on the left.
Grey and Brady are set up like a Game Boy Pokemon battle, with Grey's back to us so we can't see his face, obviously. Therefore, Grey is on the left (player trainer) and Brady is on the right (the opponent). Grey is static monochrome Gen I sprite, Brady is Gen III colorful moving sprite.
My idea for a space logo is a black circle with a few tiny white dots for the stars with a curving up 45 degree angle white streak with eagle wings at the end like its in an attack dive. Or it could be the same background but he wings are bigger and at center with a white streak from the joining of the wings down the center. My reason being black for space with white for contrast; eagle wings in attack position as an eagle is basically a pictograph for America but the reason in dive attack formation to signify high speed, going forward, and even show a bit of aggression (since a space force would also probably do orbital bombardments); and the white streak to signify any space craft by means of representing a propulsion system in pictograph form similar to how any boat has an anchor feature so we use an anchor to signify navy instead of drawing a whole ship
Just use metal straws. Not only do they look cool, are environmentally friendly (since can be used multiple times and recycled) but also are perfectly functional for approximately infinitely many drinks!
I totally never realized that o had a left and right side for each of you until Brady mentioned it. But yeah Brady is on the left and grey is on the right, and I think it’s because I’m over grey’s left shoulder for whatever reason, and Grey is the interviewer and Brady is the interviewee
iPhone users: assuming you dont have 100s of contacts. Get a ringtone that is silent and set it as the default, then for each contact set a "personalized ringtone"
On iOS (Because I know you use Apple), enable Do Not Distrub, disable the Schedule so it's always on. Change the setting "Allow Calls From" to all contacts. Boom, done. Only contacts can call you.
you're right or they're right? I imagine if I was looking at them on a stage gray is on my perspective right and Dr Brady Haran is on my perspective left
To me Brady is slightly to the right closer in frame, whilst Grey is farther away to the left in a high-back chair. A grand view shows the Mighty black stump out of the window.
I listen to the podcast on my way into work, and while I'm driving my left-side-drive vehicle I hear Grey's voice on my right as if he's leaning forward a bit in the passanger seat. Brady comes from 30 degrees left and 30 degrees up, like he's a ghost hovering a couple of feat outside my car.
I love the industrial 'recycled plastic' bags. I have been using 2 of them for two full years about 3 times a week with every shopping trip. And I am one of those people without a car that walks my groceries with a full backpack and two industrial bags to my house. But regardless, most recycled or environmental friendly solutions are terrible to convert to and still people wonder why the majority of people don't care about the environment. MAKE IT PRACTICAL!
Brady is on the left due to the one time you showed some historical items to Gray and you were on the left. Also in the video where you take votes on the flags I think you were on our left at the time there too.
I feel like whichever of the two you personally watch more (individually) and "care more about/discovered this podcast through" would be the one on the left because its the more dominant position.
I like to think Grey is on the left because he's from the West and vice versa. But more often I just think of the video chat from Grey's perspective because I know what Brady's face looks like.
Actually travel agents often have not been to those places but they say that they have been there so that they would sound like they know a lot about what they are talking about.
After reading some comments, I think we need 2 sets of T-shirts with the nail and gear separated on the front. One set of the shirts with the nail on the left and gear on the right, and another set in the reverse. It'll be the flag war all over again. =D
if sticking with the motifs in the 6 proposed...... I would say take the blue-red one... remove the "space force" font.... remove the ship... pull the flames up to meet at a point the top of the crest ... and turn the blue back.... *shrugs*
