My mother's uncle was his tailor. He was a down-to-earth guy even though he was also regal. He was a kind man and loved by all. We are not even Jordanian, we are Armenian, but my family in Jordan felt at home and like other Jordanians loved this king. Also they love King Abdullah who is much like his father was.
I'm also Armenian. I was born and raised in America. But recently have become interested in this part of the world. I remember when married Queen Noor. That's when I became fascinated with this family

He was a hero in his time, a true statesman and king, and a man of honour, wisdom, kindness and humanity, not a trace of arrogance, he dedicated himself to achieving peace even when he was so seriously ill and knew his time was limited. A great king. Today's leaders should learn from him (and Rabin and Sadat) and try to exert at least one percent of his efforts to stop all the unspeakable atrocieties. May his soul find peace.
An amazing man. You see his humanity and warmth. He made peace with my country Israel and was the first to reach out. A man of your own age. Such a shame that he left the world early. His son Abdullah inherited from him the same modest, humble character and cultural openness, along with maintaining the tradition and the rooted ethnicity.

King Hussein was a great leader not only for Jordan but for the whole world. He took Jordan and put it proudly on the world map for its importance. His vision was beyond anyone. Jordan today with it is limited resources outperformed many countries in the world and the arab world and with his majesty king Abdullah the success will continue. Thank God for such leaders and for security and nice reputation worldwide.

I love Queen Noor's book. Very insightful about what they had to go through as a couple, and what King Hussein had to endure from the media & other Arab leaders. He tried his best to bring peace. It was just too hard.

He saw many dark moments, especially the 1967 tragedy. The one that really burnt him was the 1991 war on Iraq, he tried very hard for a peaceful settlement but Bush and Thatcher rejected his initiative. I will never forget the speech he made that night and how prophetic it was "The alternate to a peaceful settlement will be the dawn of the darkest era in middleast history"! It led to the utter destruction of Iraq, Libya and now Syria.The western hypocrites put sanctions on Jordan for opposing the evil war that has never ended.
Beautiful. He was an exceptional person with a heart of gold. He made more for the middle east peace than no other ever made. The world miss a great Man.

I had the honour of meeting King Hussain in London 6 years before his death- 'A Giant of Kindness and compassion 'the Most admired Leader in all Arab states 'A Family faith full Man who worked For Peace /did he get The Noble Peace Price '??_I pray he did-if he didn't, The world is Vile. -
