Because his best friends are attractive girls who all together as a group act like they are keeping a secret from her, lie to your face when it's obvious, and don't include her or accept her. Obviously, she got possessive and competitive over Lewis. I would personally tell Lewis to screw off but Charlotte likes him too much to do that and fights to keep.

Cleo went through and read charlottes diary, and yelled at her after seeing she had a "boyfriend" (which was actually a play, but even if it was a boyfriend, so what? She was hanging out with lewis: she'd done nothing wrong at that point.) So Cleo did the exact same thing first, and for a much less justified reason

But then...Yikes! Ash was so aggressive! I was so worried for Emma. Ash forcing her to face her fears-wrong! Inappropriate! Violative! Ash was way out of line! So truly insensitive! So glad others appeared on the beach to stop 🛑 her from revealing their secret to an unworthy person. If she had revealed it, it would have been for shock effect and not out of love. Very hard for me to respect Ash since the sleepover episode too. Weird bathroom almost-visit-what is wrong with that boy!!?? Emma can do much better or he’d better learn some respect. Like when she asked for Lewis’s sweater because she was cold and didn’t have the decency to give it back to him on her own like Emma said. If she was hanging out with him so much she could’ve very well have given it to him any day. Next might be the fact that they don’t like each other. I highly doubt Cleo ever called Charlotte to ask her where he was when the girls needed him. And like she did in an earlier episode, she called his mom to ask where he was. And the three girls have been friends with Lewis way before Charlotte came into their lives. He’s known Cleo since they were 5. They are just friends. He still has rights to hang out with his friends regardless having a gf or not and while it seems inappropriate, if she’s going to distrust him THAT much to the point where she’s paranoid of him even looking at her then she’s really the one with the problem. Lewis has never given her a reason to feel so insecure about their relationship.

Okay, but in real life a person like Charlotte would act that way because of an inferiority syndrome or something. She's constantly paranoid that people don't like her so she puts herself and clings to toxic relationships . It has happened to all of us at one point before we learned to set boundaries. For example, the show justifies Rikkis distant behavior because of her lifes hardships. All I'm saying is that maybe the writers should not have given the villain those specific personality traits because lots of kids feel insecure and force themselves into fitting in to belong somewhere. You don't want them to feel like they are the antagonist because irl there is no antagonist and protagonist, there is just people who try to do their best. I mean look at Harley Quinn. She clings to sb who ignores her while she also manipulates him and vice versa. But she also has positive traits so people love her. The problem with Charlotte is just the fact that she is the fictional villain not the behavioral patters that she follows.

Every single time I watch season 2 and around to where I see Charlotte I can’t stand and watch it. I hate shows that have annoying people that annoy the main characters. Plus when they mess with them and are rude to them. It just annoys me. But I still watch the show sense it is one of my favorite. I gotta thank my older sister with letting me have a amazing childhood☺️
