Mam.. you are a Nepali & getting interview our Nepali artists..then why you trying to speak in english even they are spoke in Nepali..honestly I don't like that type of person who do pretend him/herself..so please be natural who are you & don't forget where you come from..
Although it is natural for a person especially living in London to lack knowledge in the Nepali language because of day to day experiences and we have rarely anyone Nepali to communicate with in London :/ Life get's busy and the efficiency in Nepali language only goes downhill :/ Fortunately, I have come across many Nepali people who speak perfect Nepali as they recently came from Nepal. I think they should have found the fluent Nepali speaker like the ones I came across as the host but then again, as long as the artists had a good time, it is okay.
True to some extent but not entirely. If one grew up in Nepal then she should be able to engage in Nepali well in at a conversational level without much difficulty regardless of how long one lived outside Nepal. I think it could be the case of the growing up outside Nepal and I understand...
Yes, you are right. Looking at it in a broader perspective, I think all of us Nepali people should strive to excel at our language as well as the upkeep of our tradition and culture because Nepali population is not very huge and if we (the young generation) don't take care of our cultural and traditional values then it could really be lost as more people become modernized. I have realized the efforts of many committees committed to doing this and I hope their biggest goal become reality. However, this is just an idea and as someone living in London, I know how busy life is around here where we don't even have time to meet the members of our family living under the same roof due to different work schedule. Still, I believe we should strive to find time for fulfilling our duty as a Nepali which is to learn our culture and tradition as well as excel in our own languages. ^_^ Doing this would give us confidence and a reason to be proud and most relatively, improve the quality of the videos containing Nepali language :D
Shan Shin- She even couldn't speak in english accent though. Neither nepalese nor english she is good at then what is the point to be hosting program like this? what language she speaks fluently? polish?
What is the point of having an English accent if one does not speak in proper English anyway..are you obsess with accent ? There are thousands of Indian who does not have an English accent yet they speak on of the best English in the world- better than some English people in my opinion lol. As for you observation that the host does not posses good English or Nepali, well that is a good point. Perhaps you should volunteer to do the future interview if you think you can do it better or offer some tips for future episode.
@Dogapart: I am sure she is good at something and if she isn't it's completely okay as long as she is happy with life :3 I don't know her well enough to judge her English or Nepali yet. Like what Conan said, the accent does not affect the actual knowledge of the language although terrible accent can make it hard to understand but her accent was not terrible on this video :O I understand why you would say what you just said though so it's cool. ^_^ @Conan Rai: I think they had a good time so its cool o.O
