I used to preached about the faithfulness of the dog in Japan after I read his story many years ago in our office while taking my coffee break. Many years passed too and I changed job one after another until I finally heed my calling. Last April 2-7, 2024, I travelled to Japan as tourist. I saw some iconic tourist spots in Tokyo. I came to Shibuya to witness the world's busiest crossing. Not far I saw many people in long queue to have their souvenir photo with the dog's statue. It was Hachiko's statue. I found myself one among the long queue. Suddenly I became emotional and teary eyed when my turned came. There was a supernatural force I felt upon touching Hachiko's statue. I know the spirit of Hachiko continue to charmed the place. I never imagined I could travel to Japan. Much more, to be with Hachiko, the dog I many times preached for his exemplary faithfulness. The dog indeed, is a man's best friend! A thousand feet above the sky on my way back home, it was not the beautiful cherry blossoms nor the stunning Tokyo Tower that captivate my heart, it was Hachiko. Back home, I know I will continue to preach Hachiko's loyalty as long as I live!
He deserves the respect and adoration of the people of Japan , and the world , for such loyalty has no boundaries , no measure , and is a lesson about LOVE .
Hachiko is indeed more then a story. With the love, respect and his loyalty for his owner, he is a conqueror of hearts for many people. He will never be forgotten.
This makes me cry all over again, especially with the sad music. Every time I see the pictures of the real Hachi, my heart breaks. I think of the sadness he must have endured for almost ten years, going to the station to wait for his master and wondering why he never came. I hope to God that in the end they really were reunited.. R.I.P. Hachiko . You're a very good boy. .
Actually Hachi like most dogs sense trouble and Hachi knew something was not ok. In the original Japanese movie they show the dog attending the funeral also. Here Hachi knew his master may not come but dogs being the emotional creatures they are they do this to break our hearts.
“What must we have done, in the distant past, to deserve dogs? There is a certain ‘magic’ they bring into our lives and they truly are a gift for which we have no complete explanation.” Unknown.
I hold my dog when I watch this movie .My belief is that they are together. I am not ashamed to say this story pierces my heart and my soul.I tear but I. Pray for the animals
I watched the American version of Hachi and balled my eyes out. Even if I see other clips, photos, and videos, I still cry. Now I want to watch the movie that was made in 1987. Hachi, you are a true icon around the world. Even if you passed almost a century ago, you have a lot of people who love you. May you fly high with your master/owner forever 😢😢😢😢😢
Hands of God.... Peoples in my country believes Dog can see the spirit in night when walk around them .... Maybe for this reason machito All time waiting him owner and remember him ..... Glory for God...
What made my heart touched without realizing the tears flowed when I saw Hachiko lying stiffly dead surrounded by people who also felt sadness over the loss of Hachiko..Hachiko is always on my mind as long as life is in the womb
Surely he must be the most loyal dog the World has ever known. He didn't know that his master had died, yet he went to the station every day to meet his master until the day he died, no human has the right to say that he was just a dog.
Whoever voted this vid down has no heart but I hope you find one one day! This is without any doubt one of the most touching stories I've ever heard of in my life 🤧🤧🤧
Love your pets and tell them everyday, never miss an opportunity. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.... Love you Lily, my one and only kitty since 18 years now ♥♥♥
"Throughout human history, God has initiated communication with humanity by speaking audibly to humans. *He also speaks to us through the glory of His creation* (our pets and the animals we meet on our journey). Additionally, He speaks to us through His Holy Spirit and through dreams, visions and our thoughts.Nov 11, 2016"
Hachiko 's devotion, love & loyalty to his Master surpassed the human gratitude towards their peers. I hope this darling pooch is now happy with his owner in Heaven. I truly believe the dogs are very intelligent and they love us way more than we love ourselves. I learned it from my own Pooch Pascal. TO ALL THOSE POOCHES, WHERE EVER THEY MAY BE THEY SHOULD BE WELL & HAPPY.
If only they let Hachiko know that his master have already died by taking him the day they buried him, Hachiko will never wait on the train station for ten long years and get sick and weak.
Very Nice Video. This Video Brought Tears out of my Eyes. Very Nice Video All should Watch & Appreciate. Dogs are True Blessings on this World. We must Love & Protect Them. Thank You.
Hachiko did teach everyone unconditional love and loyalty! Yet what was done to ease that poor dog's pain was minimal. He never received a proper good bye. He never got to see his master one last time. He didn't get to see his dead body. He continued to believe he was going to come back to play with him. No one made an effort to ease his pain. Make him understand. And to help him move on. Everyone appreciated him for what he was doing. But no proper attempts were made to really make him understand. No one made an attempt to shower him with love once again like his master did. This means playing with him too, not just providing his food. Connecting with him the way his master did. He didn't need to wait 9 long years of his life waiting, crying in silent, with the mere hope of seeing his master again. He only get 2 happy years of his life. That dog didn't deserve to go through what he went through. With some attempt he could have been freed out of his sorrow. Yes! Hachiko did set an example for all of mankind. But it is shameful to know that this pure innocent dog died the way he did, being hopeful every single day, even at his weakest, waiting at a train station, waiting for his dead master to return! Imagine the pain! Imagine the pain he felt with each passing day when he doesn't return.. and we have allowed that! Whoever fed Hachiko were the only little sunshine he ever had for 9 long years. I cannot believe Hachiko was never rehomed properly to live the rest of his life happy again. He could visit the station whenever he wanted but had we attempted to connect with him again, we will not be able to make him forget his master but he will definitely open his heart up for another human and wouldn't have suffered as much. All those people coming to the station to see him, making statues of him, yet no one thought about the dogs wellbeing.
Much respect for what you have written! After Mr. Ueno's death Hachi became a stray dog. He was abused but he didn't care. He was only thinking of his master. When Hachi became a "celebrity" every one was rushing to take a photo with him. They loved and valued him so much that they embalmed him so that future generations would see their hypocrisy. When my children asked to have a dog, I told them that they could, but having a dog does not mean only feeding it, walking it and playing with it. It also means to be with him when he is sick, to be with him when he is sad and that is a dog part of the family. My daughter became a very successful veterinarian
Professor Ueno and Mrs. Yae were not legally married, as Professor Ueno's parents were opposed to their marriage. Due to legal issues at the time, when Professor Ueno died, Mrs. Yae could not inherit his assets. Mrs. Yae, who was in financial difficulties, initially left Hachiko in the care of a relative, but there were frequent problems with Hachiko escaping from the house where she had left him and going to Shibuya Station or jumping on someone who looked like Mrs. Yae (Hachiko liked Mrs. Yae as much as the professor). Later, Hachiko was left in the care of a man named Mr. Kobayashi who lived near Professor Ueno's house. He was the gardener at Professor Ueno's house. Mr. Kobayashi supported Hachiko's diet and health. However, Hachiko could not forget Professor Ueno. Hachiko often went from Mr. Kobayashi's house to Shibuya station, and on his way there, he would go to Professor Ueno's house to see what was going on inside. To those who did not know Hachiko's circumstances, he must have looked like a stray dog.
@wadepsilon01 Thank you! Ppl love to judge & assume, don't they. Animals form attachments to certain ppl just like ppl do & miss them when they are gone. Hachiko was a beautiful loyal & devoted dog.
You do not know that Hachi would have opened his heart to another. You are simply judging & making assumptions. Dogs, like ppl, form deep bonds with certain ppl & that's the truth..
I wish they buried Hachi next to his master instead of stuffed and kept him in a museum. He wanted to be with his master. That’s what he wanted and waited for almost 10 years. It hurts me so much to know what they did to him. Very selfish. I am so sorry, Hachi 😢.
I will never understand how someone can be so cruel to a beautiful creature like Hachi. Besides losing her loving master, and his home, his master’s partner gave him up to stranger that did not take good care of him. I don’t care what he said. One thing is for sure that Hachi would not have had heart worms and He should had not died alone in the streets if they had really taken good care of him. It really hurts to think he died alone in the streets of Tokyo. Without anyone who had eased his pain in his last minutes. I will keep on praying to God to allow us to have our babies back in paradise.
@@denmother3008 In his last hours, he found the strength to take a last walk to say goodbye to the people who fed him and gave him water, but unfortunately no one was there. He went to the street and laid down there for the last rest. Some say that the pain killer he was given in the last month of his life did not work enough because his body was no longer accepting it. I hope from the bottom of my heart that he died peacefully without pain.
I generally get tears in my eyes too when I see photos of the real Hachiko. How much love was in his heart! @Donnapalooza..you are right - Hachiko has taught us what true love and devotion is. If Hachiko, being a dog, showed so much love for his master, can we humans not show the same love towards animals, birds, and pets!
Akitas are one of a kind. You have to own one to understand what they give, and what they take from you without asking. And when they are gone. You realize you have big empty hole in your chest.
I saw this movie for the first time in 11 February 1988 at 21.00 . it was the national day of Japan , and after the speech of the Japan ambassador was aired on TV , our national TV station played this movie , brought to us by the ambassador . I had tears in my eyes . 20 years later I found out that it was a true story . we had a black and white TV back then , but I remember that movie like it was yesterday . it made a strong impression on me at the time .
