This was my first time modding and it was a success, thank you for this tutorial. It was very in depth and easy to follow along with. Only issue I ran into was a mistake in the SD card formatting but fortunately the website provided was able to guide me in how to fix it.
do i need to download the BIOS files for it to work? cause im looking around website and i am struggling to determine the correct version, file and if it is even needed?
Make sure you clean the SD card and format it as an FAT32 drive. If that doesn;t work try another SD card to make sure your DSi SD card slot is working.
Very clear explanation and very well edited video. Worked like a charm on my old DSi that was just collecting dust and i wanted to use for some casual gaming on the bus :> Thanks for making this video! Greetings from Mexico!
I download everything you did too and put on the sd card. Evetything seems fine until i open the camera. The green screen appear. I don't know why. Every time i try to install all the files again and put on the SD everytime the green screen appeared. I'm very sad😢. Can you help me and tell something about it?
@@BytesNBits i have no folders on the sd card. It was clear and i put every files you did too. I don't know what's the problem anymore. Anyway i don't know what the "root" mean.
comment-fait-on pour retourner sur le menu que on avait avant de hack la ds ? Quand je veux retourner sur le menu originel je me retrouve avec la photo de l'avant du bateau avec les applications juste ecrit sans logo avec l'image de fond
Start the download. If you get a blocking message pop up use your browser menu to open the downloads list. There should be a button to tell it to download the file, or keep the file, or something like that.
The hack in the video lets you do more than just play games from backup files. The R4 card hack is fine if you just want games, but you've got to buy the R4 card. I would usually recommend the full DSi hack as pee the video.
Such a great console! Only issue I have is some gba games don’t work sadly. Harvest Moon, FFVI, Street Fighter were ones I was excited for😭There’s still a good selection so it’s not the end of the world I guess.
Not every Bowser inside history , freeze in red screen , it's possible to pass freeze , but it will always happen , I think it's better to downgrade to lower version to use old example Acekart 2 , probably it don't crashes games . Help me ...
Hi, I got my hands on a SD card with larger capacity, can I just copy and paste my files from the old one to the new one and plug and play? or should I do everything again?
You should be able to copy the files over. Make sure you get everything so check Windows, etc is not hiding any of the files from you - check in the view settings in explorer.
Have a look at this video. It walks you through the process of formatting the drive so that it will work in these consoles. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LvghXcDp0Mo.html
I was wondering if you could help because some of my nds roms are appearing as a black square with a question mark in the middle and every time i open it i get a nds boot strap an error has occured
I love you fr. I just have two cuestions, in the case I want to add more games to my sd, what would gonna do? Only add with my pc? And if I change my sd I have to re do all of this? Thank u soooo much
The internet archive is a good starting place. Nintendo stopped many of the reliable room sites from housing games a couple of months ago. It doesn't really matter where you put the files but a roms folder with sub folders for each system is the usual. Use nds for the folder name for your DS games.
Excelente video, it's so well explained that who is watching can also understand what is happening and why, and not just follow the instructions. You've done a very good job in making that guide into a tutorial video!! I just hacked my DSi following this tutorial and it works great, but there is only one game that I tested that is not working, even with Unlaunch, that is Donkey Kong Country (USA) for SNES. I tested other SNES games (such as Super Mario World and Chrono Trigger) that works good, so I wonder if it's just a DK ROM issue.
So just so I understand correctly, unlaunch basically allows further modification to the dsi which allows more games to be played and the startup option to be faster?
Unlaunch is the full custom firmware hack. Your console will boot up ready to play your game backups, emulators, etc. The first stage hacks need to be activated and will play most games. Some games won't run and some homebrew apps won't work. If you're not sure install the first stage hack and give it a go. You'll probably find out does everyone you want it to. If not try the unlaunch approach.
You need to initialise the SD card using the DSi camera app so it can create the correct folders. The instructions are at the beginning of the getting set up part.
Your 3ds video has the comments off so i will post this here. How can i tranfer my already existing DS game save files to nds forwarder? I successfully transferred the roms but the actual save files i had are not there
Check out wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/GBARunner2/DSi_3DS_Compatibility_List. This should tell you if a game will work and what you can try to fix it. There is some info for this game on there. Good Luck!
I love how in detail this guy is, i hope others can appreciate the actual effort this guy put into this video. He talks about every possible sceneario and explains whats going on in case u get confused or lost and hes so cool for that Ly man keep it up💥
I bought a SanDisk 128 gb micro sd card with an adaptor and followed your guide formatting it to FAT32 with a cluster size of 32 KB. I have a problem when I insert the sd card and go in the camera app it says: "The device inserted in the sd card slot cant be used." Been trying to search it up online but with no success... What should i so?
Try the card in your PC to make sure it's working ok. If that's ok format it again. Maybe try a 16KB cluster size of it's still not working. Have you got another card. Any size will do to check your DSi SD card slot is working.
Not sure if you are still having troubles or not, but I had this same issue and in order to remedy it I had to right click on the SD card in the partition wizard and delete all the already existing partitions and then create a new partition as a FAT32 with a 32kb cluster and everything worked fine. I think the issue was the SD card I used was previously used in my switch so it already had a small partition created that I needed to delete, hope this helps you or anyone else who runs into this issue.
Usually just press select when in the Twilight menu. If you press select when you're on the Rocket Robz splash screen you'll get to the Twilight menu settings.
