Ooh that's so cool! At 2:45 that much be the cafeteria for the Servbots on the Bonne's ship, they have a pre-rendered version of it in Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Makes me wonder why they didn't just reuse the one from this game that they hid away since they did all the work already.
Woah that cafeteria is used in The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Also with the Stripe burger restaurant, at a certain point in the game, you can go to city hall and a servbot is there to file papers for opening a restaurant by Tron's orders. I love how characters change positions, dialogue and even entirely new characters are added as you progress through the game and take your time to explore the city often. It feels so charming because of it.
The bit labeled "underground portal" is just under the textures for the entrances for the sub-cities that show up in the later game. It isn't obvious because you are looking at only 1 of 3 palettes used on that particular atlas, so about 2/3rds of that atlas is incorrectly colored in the version you show here. Also the frog only shows up in the room that is the area outside the boat shop where you spawned it in, it doesn't exist in any of the other Uptown stage rooms, so fairly unlikely that it was intended to be used anywhere besides on the docks there. Also that cafeteria tile is used in the hidden cutscene that plays if you linger at the start menu for too long, same as some of those other Gesselschaft interiors for the bridge. There are a few others spread throughout some of the other stages for different cutscenes, like City Hall has Teisel's room where he is watching the news report about Bon Bonne's defeat. And elsewhere you can find the conference room where they discuss their blue boy problem, heh.
I love how you know so much. This is one of my favorite games, I'm the guy that attempted to remake it a year or two ago. I wish I knew you then 😂 I quit bc I couldn't get any help on it
@@christheghost2655 It's not dead yet! We are so very close to our next release. Wont be a full remake but it will have lots of goodies for devs to build their own project. MML Forever haha!!!
In the mall there was a small can you could kick around. If you managed to land it in a bin, you'd receive money. Oddly, playing around as a kid, I found out that the can would also award some money by kicking it behind one of the shop's desk. I cannot recall, I expect to see plenty of these tiny details scattered around.
The can awarded you with good and evil karma, too, at least on the N64 port (good for the bin, evil for kicking it behind the counter; I used it for grinding evil and zenny at the same time to upgrade Splash Mine early and get the cooler-looking darkened armor)
Awesome video! Didn't think there was anything left in the game for me to see. The frog was so cool! Also the cafeteria is the Gesellschaft's, shown in a bunch of cutscenes. Can you share the code you used to get in there? PS - would love a part 2 to this.
I'm still craving for the PSP english translate version 😅 Somehow the control and graphics are obviously better I did play the Japanese version But with language barrier obviously, it's hard to play the rpg type game 😗 The npc dialogue, item and such, obviously hard to tell
Yes hi I would like to demand more, please. Maybe...much more? Lololol Jokes aside, this and the second game are in my list of all-time favorite PS1 games, for no reason outside of just being fun and stylistically captivating for whatever reason.
I love this franchise and I would most definetely would want a see "Hidden secrets" PART 2. There is just so much content left to be discovered in this game alone.
