This isn't good. today I show you doing some brush cleanup with my new JCT brush cutter and Ill explain to you why I am disappointed in the new attachment I purchased and hopefully you all can fix the problem if you get one. Dutch, you could always go get the girls and their friends some metal detectors and put them to work. Make it a game, and they will live it. When my grandfather bought a property that was next to his, it was like the abandoned creek property. There was metal and junk all over it, and it took about 4 - 5 years to get it completely cleaned up, but we had fun doing it.

Hey Dutch get some grade 8 bolt and 8 lock nuts and find a better grade of metal for your blades have a fab shop cut them for you. you will be happier and safer in the long run. just a thought from an old farmer. God Bless you and your family

Very good video, and good information for people looking to buy a rotary cutter. It seems the consensus of every video I've watched about the Chinese brush cutters is the same. Always fill with gear oil, always change the bolts to grade 8 bolts, and always change the blades to heavy duty blades. Once you do that, they seem to be pretty good units.

Rent a scarifier for the back of your bobcat. Scrape 8-12" down and get rid of metal and roots. Replant with st. Augustine. If you let it seed a few times before mowing, you end up with a beautiful meadow. Just suggesting...please do not take my suggestions as complaints. If I didn't like you, your family, and what you are doing, I wouldn't care enough to comment. Enjoy your efforts.

Yeah, more and more equipment manufacturers are short cutting certain parts. I'm a machinist and have done work for underground mining equipment for years. Why don't you check around for a good local machine shop that could make you some new bushings out of 4140 or other good steel instead of those plastic pieces. There are some really really rough composite materials that would hold up really well however I would recommend a good metal first.

Well Dutch, at least you have a machine like this. When I was growing up on the farm we had a 1946 FarmAll Cub tractor with a side sickle arm. We used it to cut hay and for land clearing. It was a dangerous and a pain to run LOL !! That thing could break your arm when lowering and raising. I remember the glorious day we got an old Ford tractor w/ a Bush Hog.. Life was good !! LOL.. That was in the '50's and '60's. I'm in my '70's now. I miss those days w/ my Dad, Grand Dad and Uncles working on the Homestead Farm. Now we have heavy duty machines that do the work in two days what used to take us a week and a half to do. Keep the vids coming Bro !! Semper Pro !

If there's an additional way to further disengage the power or wiring connectors before working on this thing, I hope you do that in the future. Sometimes the power can be interrupted because of the jam & not the ignition being shut off. And when the jam is cleared the machine may briefly kick-on again, then shut down. But by then the damage is done. Take care.

If the dealer doesn't carry replacements, then when u do find ur parts that work, buy right then if u can ever how many parts u need. That way if ur lucky finding replacements then stock up a little so u will have them. Have u tried to contact the makers for the parts or is that not doable? You know all this, I'm sure as you have been doing this for awhile at your old job. My brother had and mower that where the blades it ran, weren't carried anymore. And living a small country town he'd run to every place that sold mowers, for his tractor. He got real lucky and found one,the last place and they had a set,he got them and asked for them to please order another set and so he would have extra. You know living in the country, you know and having to bush hog alot in the summer and owning a few acres keeps u busy among other country life. Anyway wish you luck on your new adventure with mower. Take care , be safe ,and God bless you and Brandi and the girls. Love you all, been following you even when you lived at the other place. Coming right along with you and enjoy all of it. You are a hard working man. 🤗🙏🙏

Thank you, for the information. I have a 42" mower, I have had to replace spindells multiple times. Last use started out good, then the deck started shaking again, as if, it was no longer balanced. I am a widow, recently less than a year ago, but I was also raised by a mechanic family. I have people to call, but the finances may be short in the near future. I am doing my best as a person, on my own, in a 1900 home remodeled 6 times over now since 1991 as a fixer upper. I know what needs to be done and I can do it. The problem, I have is everything has paramounted. I have cleared a lot out of the house, cleaning is just overwhelming.

Shaun, Have you considered getting a attachment called a forestry mulcher? It seems to be able to handle much more and bigger material, than that brush cutter deck. Also I'd look into a grapple type bucket. It would help with gathering the limbs and trees cut down it'd aid in loading the sawmill too.

I believe Kubota makes a brush cutter that seems to do a better job. I saw where they actually pushed small trees over (4 inch) and made mulch. A couple of acres near where I live they went through there and also used it as a stump grinder. Not sure if that was the intended purpose but it cleared down to the dirt. I think that some rental places rent them. You may want to check it out.

Looks like that mower is a headache, but you could probably just sharpen those blades and they'd be good for several more uses... even if you bend them, you could put them in a vice and bend them back into their correct position... that's what we do with the blades on our brush cutter. Your property looking good, it's hard work but we'll worth it! Please be safe with those hydraulic arms, though. If a hose pops those arms will come down on you. Happened to a good friend of mine. He was working on a bobcat, his back was to the bucket and his knee was braced against the machine. A line popped and the bucket crashed down on him, snapped his femur in half... compound fracture, he was in the hospital for about a month, had to have surgery, a steel rod, several screws, and a scar from the top of his hip to his knee... that was several years ago and he still walks with a limp.
