@@alexb4874 This right here you are 1000% right, like oh wow look she got with another newly divorced, "divorced" man who treats her like shit! But now she has the added bonus of dragging a child into this mess but at least her nails look good....smdh
I accidentally slammed my hand into a sharp shelf corner while working in retail and my builder gel absolutely saved me. The nail splintered into three, the middle piece coming out completely, and my cuticle was cut, but if I hadn’t had gel on I suspect part or all of my nail would’ve been torn clean off. Having worn my nails long for 8-ish years now, one of my most satisfying moments was to hear my current manager tell new co-workers that she’d been secretly nervous about me doing field work when she’d seen my long nails. She explained how she didn’t want to say anything until it was actually a problem - and how she’d then been proven completely wrong when I showed up to field work doing the heavy lifting and teaching them fishing knots. Never let it stop you!
My fam was never into paying for beauty treatments like nails when I was growing up, but then one year I started working as a factory quality inspector and got this Russian roommate. After seeing my nails get fucked up enough times, she dragged me out and told me to start getting my nails reinforced with gel. It legit changed everything and I'm never going back.
I had a cracked nail under my polygel like hers i filed it down did my usual prep and reapplied fresh polygel but the crack came right back through the polygel. I literally just cut it tonight and started over i used a nail form.
My nails will do that! I have super strong but very flexible nails, so any cracks will just flex their way back through polygel. Once really strong and flexible nails crack, the only thing you can do is grow them out.
Please consider doing this as a detaild 😢 tutorial ! I beg you! I am on a natural nail journey and the chips and cracks are my pain! No matter what I use and there are different types of crack not only chip on the end but also something like you showed and it’s not always easy to just cut the nail if crack is on the middle or plate! Please do a longer detailed tutorial ❤❤❤❤
Id love to know what brands you use for polygel for strength. I use dip powder for an overlay on my nails to give them strength and support from breakage and bending. Im curious about polygel and builder gels. Id love to know what is the strongest and easiest to use for a polygel or builder gel beginner.
She has her own store that carries the builder gel she uses. The builder gel is by American Creator. She also has other products on for polygel and such on there. If you go to her profile, you'll see the link and be able to find everything you need.
A very basic explanation on whether you use builder gel or poly gel, depends on you nail length and how hard you are on your nails. Builder gel is generally recommended for short to medium length because it has more flexibility and will bend with your nails. But as your nails get longer it is generally recommended to go with something that has less give than builder gel because it can be too flexible and you want something that will give that added length more strength against breaking, so that is where poly gel comes in. There is more to it, and there are quite a few great videos that fully explain if you look up ones explaining the differences.
@jeanams07 that's so helpful!! Thank you! Theres so much to lnow out there. I wish there was a ranking on flexibility and hardness of different types of acrylics and gels and products on the market. You know like in reference to regular acrylic, what's harder and stronger. I've seen a few videos on them but I get a little confused sometimes by the different types of products and brand names. I need to do more of a deep dive into it. Because even though I keep my nails very short I still like having the hardness and strength of acrylic or something similar. It's rare I use short tips and enhancements but I do from time to time and it's just easier already using a product that's strong enough to handle that and is easy to use. Even though I've been doing my own nails for about 10 yrs I still consider myself a beginner because all I've ever really used is dip powders. Going from that to something that has to be sculpted is a big difference in skill. I very much appreciate your help! That gives me something to start with looking this stuff up in more detail.
I wish it was easier to just click a link for the products used. I tried to buy products from the shop but it was impossible to find what I was looking for and to know that it was the right product for sure.
always wanted to get my nails done pretty but i never do because i'm studying piano in school right now 😅 the clicking of nails against the keys irritates me SO BAD so i keep my nails super short haha
Oh my gosh but imagine if she hits her nail again, I know that she got it fixed by you but oh my gosh, it's all tough like that and it gets hit again, she's gonna feel that on her entire nail!
I bent my nail horizontally, when I used to wear acrylics. When it happened, I told my best friend, that her child birth could not have compared to the pain I experienced breaking my nail. We're still friends, and I still stand by that statement.
Her: “Do let the length of you nails dictate what you can and cannot do” Me: “ Umm I play piano and violin😅” Like if you play a instrument (Not forcing) 👇
This is an old video you can find it on her page but since she didnt have new ideas she decided to add a voiceover and make it seem like new and i cant believe yall fell for it
I'd love to know too. I use dip powder as an overlay on my nails for strength against breakage and bending and have always been interested in using polygel too. Seems like it may be easier and less muss and fuss once you get the hang of it.
@Kayla_Kimbrell polygel IS easy. I currently use a Canadian supplier and I'm looking for something closer. I'm happy with the brand it just takes kind of a long time to get to me and shipping is not cheap. Go to Nail Career Education if you don't mind waiting, and look at her 'ez gel'.

That’s the part you should remove. Whatever is attached to the proximal fold isn’t dead skin. 🤐 That’s why some clients often feel pain: some so-called nail techs cut too deep and, instead of removing only the cuticle, they hurt the proximal fold which is painful as hell…
@@AccordingToWillow I know who I replied to and what. I also explained in my „essay” what I meant. There’s difference between proximal nail folds and cuticles.Just because cuticles are attached to the proximal nail folds doesn’t mean it’s the same thing.🤦🏻♀️
I wish I knew how to check messages on here so I could find out what's making my poly gel not completely set no matter how many times I stick it in the lamp. And yes I'm using the top coat and the bottom coat
Hey! Unrelated, but what kind of products do you use on your nails to prevent breaking? I saw you apply a transparent coat and then a somewhat thick layer of hard gel in one video, but may I know what brends you use? I'm struggling to find an efficient product.. Thanks!
Is poly gel stronger than builder gel? I do overal manicures on myself with builder gel but my nails snap off sometimes and it hurts my heart having to do them again and grow them out from scratch )): what’s a good product I can use? And after how long of just doing fill ins -would you recommend we do a full removal of product and start with a new base coat and such?
My natural thumb nail is really thin and cracked like the nail itself isn’t there anymore it’s like the skin under it is out and my nails can’t handle heat bc of it any tips on what to do bc my nail is really broken and it hurts a lot
You know damn well Chelsea ain't playing no tennis. She got that finger slammed in a door by that crazy husband of hers. He's controlling and would never leave her alone long enough for a tennis match.
Мы так избалованы чистым маникюром, что просто не можем воспринять хорошую работу с ногтем без работы с кутикулой. Хотя трогать кутикулу не так уж и полезно
Nail techs in the comment: when a client comes in with a situation like this and you go to fix it, do you apply products (nail tips, gel, builder gel, etc.) up to the cuticle or do it bring it down with the grow out of the other nails to match?
Nope, up to the cuticle, it's a brand new nail... There won't be as much to do to that nail in the next fill, but so what - were not gonna put on something week. Makes the fill a little faster to, 1 less nail to do... 😊
