I feel your pain completely mate, had an off recently on my MT-07. Cold tyres on cold greasy roads and it just went out from under me on a slip-road. Bike slid across both lanes of the dual carriageway at 30ish and stopped at the central reservation without being collected by traffic. If there's someone up there they sure had my arse that day because both the bike and I were fine, other than a few scratches on the bar end, levers and alternator casing. Anyone that doesn't have crash sliders already I can't recommend them enough. Glad to see you were okay though man, and hope you're getting the bike sorted. First vid I've seen of yours but I'll subscribe and look forward to more👍
Mate, I don't know if you still commute through Chobham and West End but there's been a lot of new housing development and the contractors have been quite bad at keeping the roads mud free. One particular corner in West End is terrible as it's a blind corner and in their wisdom they decided to make it the entrance to the site. Blind corner, big trucks and diggers and slippy mud all over the road like a farm track. They've been warned more than once but take it careful riding through at the moment.
Oh dude, sorry to hear that and to think I sent you an insta message asking where your mirrors had gone. I’m glad your ok and the damage wasn’t too bad. Have you considered bubble wrap?
If it wasn't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all bud lol. Main thing is that your in one piece bike can always be repaided/replaced. Hope you have more time after your moving home to make more vids for us this year always enjoy your content. :)
I think we all tend to get complacent travelling the same roads everyday. Now you know you shouldn't. Looks like you binned it pretty well, in the sense you didn't get much damage. Stay shiny side up bro
Dubble D oh yeah...lol.... but easier to fix right? I've lost so many friends on bikes not everyone gets away with a lay down. But seriously glad you're ok.
That really sucks, hope everything worked out and is now sorted. Some of the country roads by me are terrible, tractors just cover the roads in mud and sludge all the time and its definitely not good for anyone on two wheels. I just tend to leave them roads alone completely now if I can, unless I know they are clear, but sometimes you have no choice.
That’s so shit. Hopefully things get sorted. Maybe it’s time to get a winter hack or a car? I gave up commuting on my bike about 8 years ago and haven’t looked back.
mark hill its a 2017 Speed Triple R bud. It’s a tough one, I loved my Daytona and debating finding another, but at the same time the Speed has bags of character and I couldn’t be happier with her with the mods and everything at the minute. I think I’d keep the Speed, more because it’s an underdog that’s overlooked a lot that can embarrass some big bikes with big rep
@@DaytonaDays it's a beauty looking bike but my problem is i don't like naked bikes (doesn't help my ocd 😂) so was just wondering if it was actually worth while upgrading to a 765
It could have damaged the red ring, ha? Maybe, I said maybe, you could buy the oem again and she'll turn back into the most desirable Speed Triple on earth! Just kidding, mate. Ride safe and keep going!
Shoot mate, you've been hitting some rough patches lately! Just more war wounds for the Speedy! Keep up the pictures and videos when you can! Ride safe 👍
Man not much look eh!! Did good keeping it quiet though on instagram haha. Come to the dark side and get a diavel, lower centre of gravity n longer wheel base
Not having the best of luck lately are ya? At least you're ok mate. The bike is replaceable, so don't be so down about it. Rather the bike than your bones.
What a shitter :/ All good though in the end, all fixable afterall :P Take the sticker off the chain guard and stick it on the battlescar on the tank ;)
Tony Pears nah it’s all good, got the new tank here already. Make sure you’ve got sliders on her though - would of been a £2k+ bill if not! Was yours parked near the entrance? Was having a look at it 👌🏼
What awful luck. At least you are ok. Did the insurers of the truck cough up as you said he cut the corner leaving you nowhere to go? Country roads around me are deadly now. There is one farmer that doesn't give a shit how much mud, shit and stones he lays on the roads as he brings his tractors out of his fields. It is really dangerous in the dry of summer let alone the cold and wet, with huge lumps of mud and stones in the middle of the road, lethal when it's wet. The police and local authority aren't interested in putting a stop to it, so I take it really cautiously and I am in my car!!! Won't ride in winter around here with all the pig ignorant farm types caking the roads with mud. In the dark you don't stand a chance. Not worth dying for so use the car instead. In summer it's pretty hairy too. Hit mud or a rock on a bend and you are an ex-biker. Hope you get your bike fixed. Nasty gash on the tank.
