And then there's the Hadestown broadway production about Orpheus and Eurydice in an early 20th century-ish setting. The songs in there are absolute bops. Wish I could see it IRL someday

And it's a roguelike, and it has actual story you can pick up through dialogue and not sheets of paper... (I love the story and sci-fi lore of Eternal, but it's a little beyond most players' interest while playing, and the lore exposition isn't that great.)

@@Nat_the_Chicken you can understand doom eternal story through cutscenes alone and it's as dialogue heavy as hades which can get exhausting. Love both games and both stories

@@Ace-sq8gw Yeah you can "understand" the "story," but you'll only have a vague sense of what's going on right at that moment. The lore (which doesn't count as dialogue, there isn't nearly as much actual dialogue) actually provides a window into how things became the way they are, if you're willing to read it properly, assimilate it, and make a few assumptions. That's just not what most people expect to be doing when they boot up the game, is all.

There's this thing pianists, guitar, and bass players do where they "grab the notes" where their form is so relaxed and they're so talented that they make playing their instrument look effortless and I've never really seen it outside of those three instruments until now.

Right after listening to this, I went to your Scourge Of The Furies video; and the misses you made there made me appreciate the perfection of this one (God Of The Dead one) even more. Like, did Baard Kolstad pat you on the head before you started recording?
