@@thehm3840 oooh, a big hit from Charon, that's gonna leave a mark! Wait, looks like Zagreus is calling in some- AND HERE COMES SISYPHUS WITH A GIANT BOULDER!!
I'm very uncomfortable Ares is so freaking thisty with mom, buuuuuuut I guess I can't stop them ;-; He'll one day appear at the House and say "call me "dad", Zagreus"
All Ares said was she's a "lovely speciman" and you guys are acting like he's been writing erotic self-insert fanfiction and has a Nyx love-pillow. " so freaking thisty with mom" Is he?? Where?
@@legion999 If you're really into the Greek mythos, you can relatively be confident that he IS thirsting a little. And you can also be sure that the gods having sex sometimes doesn't mean actual sex. I know Zeus produced an offspring by cutting off a part of his body (or maybe it was someone else's body part? Can't remember). I know Zeus was also pregnant once and bore his own child. Can't remember which one that was either. Greek mythos is weird. Ares thirsting for night mom makes sense though cause Ares is the embodiment of war, and Nyx is the personification of night, therefore, doing war at night is kinda a play on words here. Cause war at night is terrifying and if you have the surprise factor on your enemy you're sure to win the war.
From the video description, it sounds like a way to humble Greek Gods. Obsessive level of efforts for some trophy while small talks helps go miles in life.
Fun fact: There were technically 2 Aphrodites, #1 Heavenly Aphrodite Urania - mother of the Titan Uranos and older version of Aphrodite, the goddess of purer, family and friends type of love, #2 Earthly Aphrodite Pandemos - daughter of Zeus and Dione, the Goddes of sexual love. Later on, they were mashed together into a singular being, but became mostly Eathly love version, while Hera got the Family part. A bit disappointed they didn't put a mention of this in the game, but oh well.
Believe it's the other way around. Aphrodite, like many other gods, had competing origin narratives. Two were particularly popular. As a result, I can't remember who, decided that it wasn't two different origin stories for a god but two different gods with the same name, thereafter calling one Aphrodite Urania and the other Aphrodite Pandemos, ascribing different aspects of love to each.
It doesn’t really matter tho,”Urania” and “Pandemos”are just her epithets not another Aphrodite, every god has an epithet, it’s like saying Athena Parthenos and Pallas Athena are 2 different people, they aren’t, it’s just an epithet used to describe a god depending on where you live and what you believe in, going by ur logic, there are actually 11 different Aphrodite’s, since she has way more epithets then just pandemos and urania
wasnt the aphrodite more commonly refered today born from Uranus balls (god i hate that i actually said this) after they fell into the primordial sea? which puts aphrodite in this weird position in the family tree were shes KINDA the aunt of Zeus and the gang, but at the same you could just say shes akin to a primordial or something born from the planet itself and you cant say shes relative to anyone. kinda funny.
@@typhoonzebraI believe it was later Christian scholars who hated all that sexuality=love stuff so they split Aphrodite in two so that they could reconcile her domains with their beliefs.
@@pokejust7045 I think he could look different if only he wanted, but he sinply has nothing to prove, he IS a god. Also anime already made him hot, so there's that I suppose.
@DiaKorrus 18 for the last time people athena and posiden have nothing to do with medusa the whole medusa was turned into a gorgon by athena was something that Ovid a non Greek by the way made up to make the gods look bad
@DiaKorrus 18 arachne was never tortured by anyone athena turned her into a spider to stop her from committing suicide not the best move but she did act on impulse as for zeus posiden and hera if you're talking about this games there mostly pretty chill and I don't even think hera is in it I never played the game this video just appeared in my recommended as for the myths on the other hand ya posiden zeus and hera are all physcos I'm not saying there not Ovid just turned it on to 12 I'm not saying there good people I'm just saying that Ovid made a bunch of stuff up to make them look even worse heck athena is legit one of the best gods in Greek mythology
My game was pretty wild story wise first Meg cans into my room unannounced and after a short convo we had...a good night and we kept a open relationship next on my list wasn't to far away In the future, thanatos bringer of souls.... I noticed he started dropping hints and when I returned the same we also had good nights...together as well The most shocking was when I professed my love for duca and got turned then down by her and maybe got her fired on accident but I was still close to a poly Relationship with those 3....
my next storylist (fanfic)would be : Achilles and Megaera (first glance he said 'Mistress') Nyx and Ares, Nyx and Athena (Athena is just Ares with braincell, and why Ares has that white mask all around his eyes and head)
Achilles has a lover, already, named Patroclus. Even had their ashes mixed together after their funeral and became a human blender and slaughtered the opposing forces once he discovered that Patroclus was killed by the Trojan enemy. Achilles calls Megaera 'Mistress' out of respect; Furies are no slouches in combat and Achilles respects that. Also, Achilles is gay. Nyx is actually married to Erebus, personification of darkness, though he isn't shown in the game. Athena is likely aro-ace and Ares is a serial cheater, especially with Aphrodite under his belt.
@@TheJinx1441 actually ares never cheated on anyone ya he cheat's with aphrodite wich don't get me wrong is missed up but he never actually married anyone
@@TheJinx1441 Didn’t Achilles also have a wife and personal female slaves? I recall he threw a fit because they took one of his favorites from him. To me he was bi like the majority of greek heroes
It ain't really NTR since that requires NYX to be in a relationship. Plus this I'd Greek mythology so ntr isn't really a thing when the gods are involved.
I love that Aphrodite, despite being a goddess explicitly of sexual and romantic love, acknowledges the platonic love, familial love, and even passion about hobbies as something she's intrigued and thrilled by.
the greeks themselves had studied and proposed the diferent types of love, and there were some minor deities related to these other types. Eros, Aphrodites son/sometimes primordial deity that sprung from chaos, represent the purely physical love, i think aphrodite was generalized as a goddess of beauty that also leaned to the whole fertility thing because most ancient goddesses did anyway.
I’m pretty sure it’s not so much *that* kind of correspondence as it is a sort of fascination on Ares’ part and a way to establish contact with the Olympians on Nyx’s part.
i love that after Hypnos asked Hades to repeat himself in smaller words, Hades paused like he seriously considered breaking it down to something easier for Hypnos to understand but then decides just "no"
I'm not sure how they rationalize him being forced to return to the Underworld even once everyone is pretty much OK with him doing whatever he wants. I know it's necessary for the roguelike structure, but it seems like one of the weaker points in the otherwise incredibly well-thought-out story and lore. I like to think he lives a hero's life, vanquishes some foes, chills out a bit, and then is killed or dies of old age and ends up back home. One of the ending bits is even "Wait" and it implies old age. But from some of his dialogue with Than, that doesn't seem likely. I don't know, I haven't played the game or seen enough of it really.
Alright I was missing important context there. I went and watched the first ending, from the first time you complete a run. He is, in fact, bound to the Underworld by nature of his parentage, and he just up and dies ("taken by the Styx") after what's maybe a few hours, less than a day. When Persephone was up there he had to battle through to her again and again just to get to talk with her briefly before dying again.
in 7:30 may I ask why the first boon is greyed out and can't be picked? I sometimes encounter some of these and I can't explain where they come from and what causes it to happen.
@@nontimetis I only recently started playing but I've met all the gods, when I met Aphrodite I had to second guess myself I was like "hold up....is she?.....yeh.....and is her hair?......yeh.....bit ott tbh ok"
Same here, it might be a combination of the eschered pose (the dismatch of above and below the shoulders is just very obvious) and the direct contrast to how tastefully and fun teasing other designs like Dionysus' are. It could also be more related to lore, since her domain is love as well, which comes in so many forms (the ancient greek distinction into 8 different kinds fE) so her design is disappointing in the not realised potential added ontop of how common over sexualisation of women already is (let's be honest the drawing could be from a hentai game). Maybe it's something else entirely tho ^^ In any case, personally, I would have loved a more intricate and unique design that continues all the detailwork around her face, which would be closer to the other characters where you can always spot a new bit of detail as visual storytelling.
I think the main problem is that someone decided they wanted her to be naked, and then the artist had to put most of their energy into not making the drawing M-rated somehow... It comes awfully close.
Would you rather she stood normally and the game got rated a little more restricted? You realize she's not wearing anything. That art is barely managing to keep her decent somehow.
