I have one of these in .30-06 and in terms of accuracy it almost puts bullet on bullet at 100m, a cloverleaf group of three rounds using Winchester 150 grn lead free copper. I also find that, with a moderator fitted, the recoil is not as bad as I was expecting from a .30-06. Personally I love it!
In America Savage introduced a straight pull at a much more affordable price. The fit and finish is what you would expect from Savage but it was much more affordable. I saw on Gunbroker where you could bid on a new one and it sold for less than I thought it would. Good idea I just dont know if Americans will ever like it. Anyway as an American I can say European bolt actions are more interesting and well, cooler.
Price does not guarantee accuracy, all rifles can be fussy ammo-wise, so its a matter of finding what they like. And as always the ability of 'the nut behind the butt'
