little blue circle was the logo for pat smear's band the germs, legendary punk act from LA that inspired nirvana. that's how smear got that killer gig. he was also in another cool band called 45 grave.

I just picked up a Pat Smear Hagstrom that was one of the first produced in 2013. It was in a guitar shop for 4 years full of dust. It's one off the loudest guitars I've ever played. I love it!

Great review Mike, I have owned a Hagstrom Swede Gold top for the past 15 years, great guitar. I forgot they out the Germs Blue circle logo in this guitar. Pats first band the Germs were legendary in the late 70’s, loved them 👍

I own a Hagstrom Swede with Seymour Duncans as a factory upgrade. What an amazing guitar. My favorite NEW guitar brand. You just can't beat the quality for the money. They are gorgeous guitars!. Oh, Mike... Dam brother you can play. You are a freak! I mean that with much respect. The Pat Smear model will be my next guitar. Looks and sounds incredible.

@Dan Stormchaser, yes you can accidentally hit the toggle switch, its just getting used to it. its not a thin neck by any means, a nice comfortable medium size.

I discovered this brand only today! And I am already considering it as my next guitar. I have always wanted a short scale double cut guitar that isn't a Gibson SG and isn't a crazy expensive PRS! Plus it's Swedish. Swedish is good.

Great review. You pulled lots of usable tones there. Hangstrom should give that guitar as payment for a job well done. I'm sure more than a few will sell after this video catches on.

Hagstroms are generally good playing guitars for what you pay for them. They might come out of the factory with nuts that need a little filing or strings that stick a bit, but those are generally small problems that require small fixes. When properly set up, they play generally pretty well

yes the blue circle is The Germs' logo. One of the most influential and well known punk rock bands of all time. Without The Germs, there would be no Nirvana or any of the other "grunge" bands of that era

@@landonjackson3064 Yes, KURT was going to get out of Aberdeen whether or not Junky Darby Crash and the Germs existed or not. But back to the Germs, one my favorite Junk Rock bands and FEAR, and the Circle Jerks and the Weirdos.Joan Jett actually Produced that first Germs album G.I.. I think it's freaking both great and hysterical that Pat got his own signature Geetar. I love it. Good for him. Hell of a story of just grinding away and following your heart and dreams and goals. Dude demoing may not know anything about trivia but he can really play.Fine Demo for sure. Keep playing your chords and scales kids and have fun. Don't do Smack ! Peace-

Very cool guitar and a great review of it. Just bought an old Super Swede yesterday and I'm loving it. I used to have a '60's Hagstrom F-12s (an electric 12-string!) and am still kicking myself for selling it! Great guitars--pretty underrated in my opinion.

Hendrix, Zappa, Cobain, David Bowie, Presley, etc. Hagstrom is pretty much unknown even though all sort of pop stars used their instruments at one point or another.

Nice review. I want more Hagstroms! I'm fortunate enough to own a 1964 Hagstrom I and it's by far my favorite guitar ever. I'm going to start buying up every vintage Hagstrom I can find before people realize how amazing and underpriced they are.

Sounds like a good idea buddy, its like with fender telecasters the 70's models were quite cheap a few years ago and now there shooting up in price.

+Edgar Beja You should look for an old Swedish made one then, they cost a lot more but they play and sound better than these chinese made ones.

I live near Boston Massachusetts no store really sells this guitar you can’t go in there and just try one out you can order one from guitar Center and if you don’t like it you can get the money back but be nice if there’s a place to just play one I want to get one but until I play one ... This is a good review but I would figure that if you’re reviewing somebody’s guitar that you would research and not kind of wonder if he played in one of the most popular groundbreaking punk bands of all time. But I’m sure he’s working on his delivery which is awesome because I learn more and more about the guitar because of this video thank you very much man

grand master flash Japan? Nah, the cheaper ones are made in China and the pricier ones are made in the Czech Republic.

grand master flash Korea and China actually. Hagstrom has some Japanese prototypes built in the 80s but they never took off.

Nice axe, it's similar to an SG, like I play, but with the maple cap like a Les Paul. Mellows the out so it doesn't have the bite of an SG. I just don't like signature guitars, personal preference.

I am buying one next month! :). I love hagström and have done that ever since i bought my first super swede 5 years ago. I have owned alot of guitars over the years in all type of brands, but im sticking to hagström. I Think its the most price worth guitars in my opinion. Anyways, good Review m8!

Thanks Marc really appreciate it. Yes I always have it on my right leg, just feels more comfortable doing that. But do get used to playing standing up. put on some some backing tracks and improvise away standing up.

Hi, how thick is the neck compared with other Hagströms or with an Epiphone Les Paul Tribute plus? I'm looking for a medium to thick ohe, and I love the look of the Hagströms but unfortunately I'll have to order it online, so no way of trying them beforehand. Thanks!

Unlike Mike, I don't think the headstock is attractive. To me, the shape does not compliment the body. Also, I think huge, fret inlays (on any guitar) are really unattractive. Equip this guitar w/the neck and headstock from one of Page Hamilton's signature guitars, and I'd have to own it.

Heavy boat anchor, neck is way too chunky, pickups must be replaced. Senseless switch placement. No big deal. It's basically a thick heavy SG style guitar. Not worth the money even used. There is absolutely no demand for this guitar unless you are a Hagstrom fan.
