I loved walking through the Haight when I lived there in the 90's. I would get my hair done in the Fillmore and instead of catching the Muni I would walk and dream about being there in the 60's. I would have loved to be a hippie... Thanks for he memory...
All that is missing are the hippies with flowers in their hair. This is still a great place and always will be. The pictures we took back in the 60’s were the best.
my favorite city in the World...Ive traveled quite a bit, and SF is the 'gift that keeps on giving", in my opinion. Helps to have history with this town, when it comes to tolerating its flaws and weather. But neither of those have kept me away. I was stationed at NAS Alameda, from '84-'92...so, yea...the city was under seige, by a plague that took our breath away. I look back and wonder how I made it out alive, when so many friends and acquaintances, did not. It was a VERY painful time. But still...the magic that San Francisco has always had, has never left my memory bank. Id like nothing better than to move back there in a few yrs.
Went here in the 90's and it doesn't seem to have the same vibe now. I think in those days there were still remnants of the 1960's but that seems to have gone from Haight ashbury now.
Well. Time changes and moves. I came back to to town I was born after 30 years. I left when I was 20. Changed a lot, but still was there many buildings, even my school and that feeling wasn't the same but still I enjoyed.
The Vinyl Attic: I hope you get to visit it too. It's a beautiful city - lots to see. Check out our San Francisco playlist for more videos ru-vid.com/show-UCn2YnnD2g33upkbSMkQK-Bwplaylists
In 2003 me and my then boyfriend did a 'star walk' walking tour of haight ashbury -the tour guide was excellent-saw all the 60s stomping grounds/houses . It was great !

Well well, my fellow walker Walking Tours, it looks like we have another success on our hands! This walk through San Fransisco city is certainly one that features high-platform beauty and interest levels for all who witness it.
Thank you fir supporting and walking my channel! I walked all over the city and will have more walks up soon. Also coming up are some of national parks in Utah. I have not yet been to Baltimore. Do you have a video of Hamden on your channel?
@@walkingtours3885 yes. I have a video on Hampden. I might do another walk there because I just bought a new camera recently. And while I'm there I will do the Christmas lights festival a few blocks over. Just search: 36th street shopping district Hampden's the Avenue.
Born there at UC hospital over looking Kezar , GG park and the haight in 195 3rd generational grandpa arrived in 1850 It was a beautiful city until the 70’s
Thanks for your efforts but this video is too new for me. I was hoping for something nostalgic. But your work is good and I'm sure other subscribers will enjoy it!
Is this the place where hippies used to go some of them wearing flowers in their hair? Some years ago I went to SF (without wearing flowers in my hair) and had such a wonderful time visiting that matchless city. I spent a whole week there. Wonderful week indeed.. But I didn't go visiting Haight A. Thanks to this Video I saw the famous clock marking 4'23"...I think. Thanks so much for uploading it. Greetings from Spain. Stay Safe
Great to know that this was the place of the party! Sorry, nobody in here around with a Cam and a gimbal.Almost in C19 lockdown. Do you think We will survive? Stay safe. Greetings from Spain
What’s funny is video like this will be used for future VR programs, just like the lady who recorded all those commercials and tv shows from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. You want a certain date for you VR experience? Keep recording!
It will be cool to look back at these videos in 10 or 20 years and see what has changed and what is the same. Thanks for the comment it will be featured in a upcoming video from Dana Point.
Coolest place I’ve been in the US yet. Home ofthe historical hippie movement Summer of ‘67 and this great record store Amoeba music at the end. Visited in October 2019 when the band Ride signed records before their concert
the woman at 6:04 with the adidas shirt on will regularly come into my work to steal sugar and cream, and has, on occasion, smeared lipstick all over her face while staring into the cafe through the windows, without breaking eye contact

Hey Kiki, I would strongly recommend visiting first before moving there (unless you were just talking about a visit). I live an hour from there, and it is an odd city that I would recommend researching in depth, as most places have negative traits as well as positive. Furthermore, San Francisco is a relatively small island, so I recommend considering if the surrounding areas will fulfill your common needs and desires that perhaps you wouldn’t seek out within San Fran. Oakland is quite dangerous (not unlivable, just uncomfortable), and not very easy on the eyes in many areas, and San Jose is quite bland. I’m only saying these things because many places look better when only the positives are shown, but if this is the place for you, don’t worry about my comment. Additionally, I would recommend consideration Southern California. The atmosphere is different, beaches are much nicer. And if you like a laid back vibe with lower crime, I recommend San Diego near downtown or La Jolla. In closing, I would definitely recommend San Francisco for a visit, as it has a lot of novelties and idiosyncrasies, and will certainly keep you entertained for a week or more, but would not recommend living there for any length of time.
@@snapple1877 I agree. Went to visit a gf of mine in the Castro (2008) and it reminded of my hometown (Philly) and my present city (NYC/Bronx). A bus driver in Oakland told me if I was considering SF, to forget about Oakland for the same concerns you laid out. It's so ironic that you mentioned San Diego because it has definitely drawn my attention in recent weeks. So it looks like I'll be going for a visit to decide what's really there that the videos didn't capture. I'll also take a look at some of the cities in Southern Cal just so I would have some comparisons as well. I'm just so sick of these cold winters and so ready for a change. I even started seriously saving 💰 just in case I stumble across something worth it for me. Thanks for your imput. I appreciate you wholeheartedly. Happy Holidays!!! 🙏🕉😘

this is so cool. i have a friend who's Mom owns a building on Masonic right near the (old) t-shirt shop that is no longer on the corner. this neighborhood is very dear to my heart as i've been lucky enough to spend quite a bit of time here. so much culture and art has come from this little section. it's somehow managed to keep it's bohemian sense of self throughout the techie takeover. Amoeba is a must. So is the Pork Store Cafe.
