As a man trapped in his wheelchair you are a window to the world Adam. Everything you do can shape not just the view but the experience. Thank you for everything you do!
I am in almost the same predicament and if you could use a (another) friend, let’s get to know each other! I am not in a chair currently but it isn’t far ahead anymore.
I was born in the Summer of Love, 1967, and even though I was too young at that time, I managed to catch the tail end of it in the 70's when things were so new and fresh. Now that people have "Seen everything" you can't capture the innocence that once was.
I heard haight died out early 70s (before that) I've also heard concerts in the bay area (ledzeppelin concert 77) guys I worked with said, their were still a lot of freaks at that time. I knew what he was saying, wasn't taken lightly either. I used to work commute San Francisco back 87? I wasn't hippy long long hair kept hidden in my hat 15 year old kids would ask me if I was going to see 'the dead'. Selling Grateful dead shirts everywhere. I had no idea in 1987? Only San Francisco. Fisherman's wharf grateful dead (figures). We were looking for street address driving, I remember my boss slowing down, coming up a park, Watch this, he says, going back in time 60s") Walls graffitied with old bands . People everywhere sitting Indian style, endless. It was beautiful day.
My family and myself were due to arrive in SF from the UK , the same day as you and Natalie. Due to Covid our holidays been cancelled, so I’m really appreciating the current vlogs Adam. Really nice to see what we’re missing & how the weather is. Well done, your providing a lot of enjoyment for people who are unable to visit these places at present. A Big Thank you from the 🇬🇧 (Ps. Natalie makes a great addition)
I like this type of music. This takes me back in time. It brings up a lot childhood memories. I was in elementary school at the time. I love 💘 Hendrix. Probably one of the greatest guitar player. Also love Joplin.
Thanks to you both for the great tour 👍lots of neat things to see 👀 & do. I've never been to San Francisco. But hope to go some day. I live in So Cal near Los Angeles.
Spent the day with a young lady who fulfilled my dream of Haight Ashbury, he had vegan pizza, coffee at a cute shop, Bertie Page store and so much more a true dream come true what a day ty for taking me there again. Also found a fellow with a guitar and had to have a pic with him, her noticed my headband Han flowers in it lol 🥰
Loved the content of this video..very interesting!! Also was very pleased with how Natalie presented herself in this video as much more mature, less giggling, and more adult speaking parts Bravo
Janis Joplin use to frequent the old Marin Flea Market looking for fashion accessories....she and James Brolin often purchased Native American Jewelry/Baskets & Blankets from a friend of mine.
You got to ride the Sky Star Wheel the Ferris Wheel 🎡 in Golden Gate Park it is an attraction to celebrate 150 years anniversary of Golden Gate Park. Gotta visit California Academy of Sciences, the De Young Museum and Japanese Tea Garden
I remember the bison having a bigger field to roam around in when I was there (early 90’s). You should have visited the Japanese Tea Garden. Very pretty. Back then, the windmills had no blades.
I grew up in the 60’s and am probably still a bit hippie/counterculture at heart. I visited Haight Ashbury again about ten years ago and had to smile at the kids emulating the 60’s fashion and lifestyle. A very different vibe though than what it was back then. Still very fun to be back there. Thank you for the tour, Adam and Natalie !
I so understand and appreciate your comments! Almost explosive excitement potential for a high school kid in the late 60's... Of course, my parents barely let me out of the house.....
Wonderful video! I saw the Grateful Dead 30 times, Jerrys Bday was 8/1. Loved seeing all of my favorite spots at the Haight! SO excited you are up here in the Bay :)
Can’t believe you were eating lunch in the Inner Sunset (Crepevine) - my neighborhood! I was literally grabbing a coffee just two doors down yesterday. Darn.
They have some of those "Muni" cars at a local museum (sign reads N Judah) in Oregon that were used up until the 80's? My dad lived a block away from all that in the 60's and got to see Jeff Airplane in GG park.
Hi Adam I was just in San Francisco yesterday It was 55゚ As you know. Went over the Golden Gate bridge The bridge was partially covered in fog San Francisco is a beautiful place. Went there to pick up a car didn't have time to sightsee. Hope to see you in the oc Thank you so much for your Wonderful episodes take care
SF has nice weather, stays way cooler there than San Jose where I was born and raised. Pier 39 is a good place to go also, good restaurants, shops, Aquarium of the Bay, etc.
Nothing is more fun than walking those groovy inclines on some far out legal gummies. Natalie looks amazing as usual; but has a really cool Yoko Ono hippie witch vibe going today... Peace and Love, Peace and Love
I love these San Francisco vids! It's such a unique, beautiful city. I looked up the weather there, high 60's/ low 70's all week? Dang that's perfect weather. I'm glad you're going back to FL, but surprised you're going to tolerate the miserable heat and humidity. I figured you'd stay in California until late September. You're a. brave man. Btw Natalie's outfit is very cute.
The history of those places gives me goosebumps…it’s a point in time that can never be replicated, and it birthed heroes and villains that will forever live on through music and fashion. Now, the REAL question, is this: why didn’t one, or BOTH of you, wear a FLOWER in your HAIR?
Janis Joplin's picture on the bike was actually taken in Cincinnati Ohio in Eden Park. Guitarist Stuart Holman attended the Janis Joplin concert at Music Hall on October 13th, 1968. ... Jeff Siereveld, who worked at the Ludlow Garage, talks about watching Janis Joplin have her photo taken in 1970 at Summerfair in Eden Park...a photo which ended up on the cover of her greatest hits album.
I recommend taking a tour on one of those hippie v w vans, it’s very cool. Then you can go back do a video of the parts you enjoyed….Glad your having fun’.
When you realize Adam was in the city when you first moved to it… and you didn’t know he was there at the same time … I’m sad I didn’t see this when it was first posted!
Fun fact about bison: they're the largest mammal in North America, a male bison weighs up to 2,000 lbs, while the female bison weighs up to a 1,000 lbs, and a baby bison weighs 70 lbs when born, also the males are called bulls and the females are called cows
All the times I’ve been to GG Park I never realized there were Bison 🦬 there. Thanks for the heads up from a local 😂! Btw the DeYoung museum is awesome. Also, SFMOMA.
? for Natalie...."Have you ever gone to the Alemany Blvd Sunday Antiques Mkt??? My friends and I would Sell and Shop there often. Great Place...On Saturdays it's a Farmers Mkt.
1.1 k for you my coolest friend. Hope you ok did you have a good time today all my best to you in person you my coolest coolest friend to be with love my bane. Craig king I come from south west wales in in Pembrokeshire
It’s so strange seeing you on my train. N Judah to the end of the line at Ocean Beach. How long are you in the City? I’d love for you guys to do Land’s End Trail behind the Palace of the Legion of Honor, or Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio. Delores Park and the rest of the Mission, the Castro… So many places! Take the N out to the beach or the 38r all they way out to Sutro Baths.
Adam ! Thanks for the videos ! Natalie is a great addition. The videos with her are just a little better because the dialogue and exchanges are just a little more fun.
