I dont understand why would you ever get in your car? During storms you should stay inside listen to the weather. You should never try to drive out of a storm. stay at home . make sure you have car insurance this way you can claim the damage. you tried to our run it and it still hailed on your car. You life is much more valuable than a vehicle. I drive a expensive car but i would never try to get in it from my home driveway and try to our run the storm. Stay at home and safe inside your home. please
Probably spent more on gas than the glass would have cost trying to find a place to protect a car, especially since you passed up so many good places to stop.
Its Oklahoma you know this kinda weather happens and can happen any time of year. I live in tulsa transplant from California. But im fully aware of the weather here and i would've drove to the nearest gas station or parking garage before the storm. This is actually not smart drivinh in such conditions
if they came with them it would be worse, since hail could break through the window and fly at them and kill them. or the window would break and shards of glass would fly at them, combined with softball size hail
Wow! I am so nervous whatching your video, I was in my house at this time, watching how my car get hit by the hail and then power out and Tornado alarms started .... was a nightmare... sadly..... :( Glad that u are ok....
You both had vehicles, That white van was big enough looking to put pets in why would you leave them back home, Specially a Tornado coming...Wow how sad):
You know how dangerous that would be the dogs would get hurt if you crashed by accident and the house is stronger than the car itself it would be safer it you let the dog stay home also if they into a mall the dog could attack someone there you go Heather dawn
What a mistake! Tonight may be worse! Be careful! It's never worth getting stuck in it! Just imagine if a tornado came through while you were in your car. Also it was very unsafe to be under the overpass. Your life is more important than your property. If you want to save whats left of your car windshield, you may wan to prepare now as we are at least 2-3 hours away from next storm. No telling if you will get huge hail in your area though. Stay safe... And good luck
Geez, at :14 you appear to have a garage. Suggestion? If the garage is full of stuff, get a shed. You could had possible used the garage for one car. Maybe invest in a carport as well.
i left my car outside at home & in short order a hailstorm started up & destroyed that Toyota. I'll learn my lesson next time! and I wasn't in Florida at the time, I was at home in North Georgia.
I believe they sell an inflatable thing you can put on top of your vehicle. I believe they tie it to the tires or somewhere that secure so the winds won’t blow it up. It’s seems like a very inconvenient thing to do, every time a Storm rolls in.You would definitely save on gas and be inside your home, where is safer.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. "storm chaser" if you want to core punch through core then just get some hail gaurds and mount strong stuff all over your car. Sincerely, Young meteorologist (Shiva._.xperia
What if fire or rescue vehicles had needed to drive through that underpass to get to storm victims? Is a windshield worth someone else"s life? See Roger Edwards' article about what happened at Shields Blvd. in 1999.
The Interstate in The Worst place for you To be Driving during a Hail storm but I do Understand Y'all was Trying to get away from before something bad happen to Your car
Hayes Riviere hi there. That was actually posted by my son. He is 8 and autistic. A truly amazing kid. he is both facsinated by and terrified of bad weather, however, watching videos of storms and whatnot help him cope. Through his anxiety, he feels compelled sometimes to comment randomly. He loves watching these videos, and this is one he watches over and over again. Thank you for understanding.
I'm the same way, I love and are terrified by driving in the rain. sometimes when it's raining i will actually go out and drive, because i love the feeling and vibes. it's also some sort of a treat for me since i'm from southern utah. I have a cousin who has autism, so I understand, though he is unable to spell, and doesn't really have these kinds of fascination. i do apologize if i was rude or offended him in any way, God bless you and your son.
I do not understand why you didn't pull over your vehicle in a gas station? Though an overpass will protect your from hail it will not protect you from a possible tornado passing over you, Shawna. I hope you read this to prevent yourself from doing this again in future.
To me if I was going to drive out of a hail storm I go to the next nearest shelter to park my car under and wait it out till it was over with or go under an overpass and wait it out. I want to try the drive away from the storm. That thing can be everywhere in the sky. You don't know where it's going to hit.
You’re not very smart dude. You passed plenty of over head gas stations. Instead of out running the storm, you drive into. You caused more damage than the actual storm did. Dumb move!
Parking under an underpass is dangerous and could put other road users at risk…I can understand wanting to protect your cars but that’s not the way to do it
