Donovan Melero is my idol. How he sings those beautiful, but sometimes harsh in-your-face vocals, while playing such upbeat, sometimes rather intricate rhythms, on the drums at the same time is unbelievable. That would be a show all on its own. I really want to see these guys live.
"and as i hung there i noticed how you, how you all just stood there - like stone you stood there.. and as i hung there i noticed how you, how you all just stood there... the fear kept you there. and i watched you" this song is so fucking epic thank u hail the sun the meaning behind this song and the lyrics really speak to me.. :')
yea talks about the system in general too, "evil is the grease that runs the system let em burn to assist them in control" dude i'm seeing these guys live tonight :O Sean Mahar
Been a while since I came back to this band. God damn if I didn’t tear up a few times in this song. I remember not getting it all that much as a teen but now… let them pray I guess 🙃
Oh how I love this band. Their Elephantitis EP is abolutely phenomenal. This full-length will undoubtedly reach the bar its predecessor has already set.
Sad to see fans weren’t enjoying this track before wake dropped, I gotta say this track is a grower, it’s insanely good. I almost cannot believe the amount of hate it got back in the day. Hopefully the fans got a little smarter and realized how good this is
They all make us watch.......... and as i hung there i noticed how you, how you all you just stood there, like stone you stood there, and as i hung there i noticed how you, how you all just stood there the fear kept you there and i watched you - Our lives. Deep as lyrics, love it.
Wow, these guys are awesome. Why has it taken me so long to find them? They sound like they should be way more popular then the amount of views on this video.
I remember watching this video when I was in high school many times on fridays at night. Now being an adult and stumbling on this video once again made me relive those memories. Those were the days...
Early version of Hanging Revelations. Mix is way different from the album version. Also I think some guitar, drum, and vocal work was re recorded or re worked for the album version. Especially the screams, listen to "terror is the grease that runs the system"!
YES YES YES! I already knew you guys were gonna make it big when I stumbled upon your Kickstarter in December 2011. Keep up the good work guys! And of course.. please release this on vinyl.
The final version gave me chills the first time i heard great work on finalizing the mix and the vocals by far were worked on greatly with heavy detail, whispering "we submit" this time around was great and dramatic change that i really appreciated. Thank you HTS,Thank You Josh Benton, and Thank You Will Swan!
Aside from The Slash Slinging Slasher, the song is keeping safe. Like if it's not broken, don't fix it. Until the album comes out, I'm not sure if they dipped into fresh sounds. Safe song, holding my interest on a rope.
Dude, you have no idea, I've been waiting for this album for the last 2 years. Elephantitis absolutely kicked the shit out of me and I could not be more stoked to hear the rest of this.
I really started to admire this song on the third and fourth listen as well as the lyrical content. But they did seem more serious as opposed to the witty and more relaxed ones I fell in love with on Elephantitis. Either way i am really looking forward to whats coming this Fall!
First song I've heard from them...came b/c I was checking out Sianvar and I knew all the bands except this one. Sounds like a cross between Circa and A Lot Like Birds...in other words it sounds fucking amazing.
how do so many people not like this song? its pretty great. Especially that Phrygian cadence at 0:16. It gets me every time. But anyway.... this song isn't there best by their standards its average, but by an average song by Hail the Sun is like pretty amazing in other standards.
+Guitarrfcker I have asked this myself... I live in Austria and in the Articles in the background there is mention of the "FPÖ", which is a very popular right wing political party here. It's hard to decipher any real meaning from the small abstract seen in the video, but I presume it was either selected at random or it has something to do with the nature of said right wing part(ies)y (?) (Also it seems to be written a sortof parody/criticism). As said, I can't really wrap my head around it unfortunately
WOAHFOX The line "Manipulation" is really hidden under "Let them burn!". I saw it in the lyrics, but I had the hardest time hearing it in the CD release of the song.
why does this lyric video sound so much different from the original version on the full length album, it sounds like it was recorded at a different tempo or something
