It’s apparent from his acting. He reminds me a bit of Weird Al’s acting, when he’s acting serious. It’s not really acting, it’s wearing one’s emotions on their sleeve. And some may call it “bad acting”, but many people aren’t the most subtle in every situation. Bruce represents the kind of plain-honesty a lot of us wish we could get away with.
I remember it like it was yesterday. The year was 2004 and the movie the Notebook had just been released. My girlfriend at the time was freaking out wanting to go see it but I had another idea. I told her that, if she was going to drag me to that movie, and if I was going to sit through it patiently, then she would have do something for me. She sat there for about five minutes quietly contemplating before finally saying, "No, I will NOT watch Army of Darkness!"
Your remark is very interesting. In fact, the voice of actors in the 50s and 60s was often recorded on tape using microphones that had poor high-frequency response compared to modern microphones (which had its advantages in terms of wind protection, for example, and there was no need to record high frequencies back then, since there was no "hi-fi" back then). Tape recording produced distortion that made the voice coarser and slightly unnatural. Bruce's voice always seems to sound in such a way that no matter what microphone he speaks through, he sounds with a lack of high frequencies, except if he does not speak into a very close standing microphone. From my vocal lessons, as I understand it, Bruce should have been able to speak exactly the same and clearly even if he had not a single teeth, because this is the only way I see the possibility of cutting high frequencies from my voice without using additional processing or special equipment. It is possible that Bruce trained to speak, as ancient orators taught this - with stones behind his cheeks. Plus, Bruce has a very good air supply, his voice always sounds the same in volume, and this is not only in films, but also in interviews. Perhaps it also reminds us of the sound of actors from 50s and 60s. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that Bruce Campbell is super-high skilled at his voicing. I don't believe that there is a chance just to randomly say so many phrases that became so well quoted classic, like "Groovy", "I'm a man with a gun", "Give me some sugar, baby" etc without A LOT of practicing. Of course, I'm exaggerating that he doesn't use his teeth at all. The teeth are what give the amplification, definition and high frequencies. In the same phrase, we can hear that only certain sounds from Bruce sound bright, and the rest of the phrase can sound like actors from the 50s and 60s and he just able to keep it clear and definitive.
Edward Nigma In the first one he is the announcer at the wrestling match, in the second he is the doorman at the play, and in the third he is the French waiter at the restaurant.
i still stand by it today. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Campbell have the best one liners OF ALL TIME. my personal favorite from each is Arnie: "stick around" Bruce: "Good.....Bad.................i'm the guy with the gun"
***** Yeah, I can agree with this. Besides, those Expendables movies are only for big dumb musclebound dudes whose only talent is looking impressive (and also Jet Li is in there even though he could actually rip most of those other actors to shreds). In my opinion, Bruce Campbell was very well-utilized by being cast in Burn Notice. The funny and debauched sidekick who can still beat the shit out of the bad guys? That is 100% the role he was born to play.
Of all the horror icons in history, Ash Williams is the only protagonist/good guy compared to everyone else in the roster(Jason, who probably belongs to the evil neutral side, Leatherface, Freddy, Chuckie, and many more, you name it!).
Yea and that’s why he’s a Joke to the horror community because he’s a hero and not only that but his personality makes him look like a total joke and he’s not even funny, hes nothing but obnoxious and annoying and anyone who thinks he’s funny has a bad taste in comedy
The only problem with this, and it is a glaring problem despite the like--ability throughout this video, is that there isn't anything from Brisco County Jr.
Something i love about 1:20 is that based on the century this movie takes place in he shouldnt even know what shoelaces are but he still looked down anyway
I think the reason why Bruce is so well liked is he appeals to us, the ordinary "average Joes" of America. He's not some prestigious Hollyweird uppity arrogant asshole Julliard acting school-type; he's just an everyday guy like the rest of us trying to make it in the world. How he talks to and handles the villains in movies is most likely how we would do as well if we were ever confronted......with no nonsense talk, a quick wit, a sawed off double-barrel shotgun and a chainsaw!!
Jack of All Trades was the first thing I knew Bruce Cambell in years ago, and now I've just finished the Evil dead Trilogy and I'm in love all over again.
I just want to make it clear I didnt make this Someone else edited it and I downloaded it cause it was awesome the the video was token down for copyright reasons, If he puts it back up I'll delete this
The worst thing you can say about Bruce Campbell is that he's a one trick pony in terms of acting. On the other hand he does that one trick fucking expertly so I'm not complaining. Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembered Bruce Campbell on Burn Notice. Stole the show.
and in Burn Notice, Campbell was also great, even with his "batman" stomach pouch and gained weight. His cameos in other films were great. he was also great in Xena Warrior Princess as the master Thief.
Wow! Thats crazy, I was just talking and mentioning of a ash and duke nukem game. Of course they wouldve clash till eachother mostly defeated, but not killing eachother. They both come soon to a realization that the babes and earths people are being possessed by demons in help by aliens, then from the the to characters universes come together when ash portal entrance comes in. Besides Ash wasnt in MKX sadly. So they should definitely do a project. Duke also seems alittle inspired by duke. Hail To the King Baby! and they also show the love for the woman.
Somebody should reboot The Rockford Files and cast Bruce in the Garner role. He'd be fucking amazing. And he's the only guy around that's cool in the same way James Garner was.
Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?
