I'm a Giants fan. I'll always think of them as the Redskins. You guys had the best fight song BY FAR of any professional or collegiate team in North American team sports. I miss the games at RFK back in the day. Golden times of the NFC East.
I’m a Raider fan but I still called them the Redskins. This fight song is the best ever in the NFL and probably in North American sports. I always called this legendary fight song as “Hail to the Redskins”. “Hail to the Commanders” was not good to hear.

it’s sad that there not redskins anymore i get the name was racist but they had more fans then they do now and my grandpa loves the reds kin’s he was so mad when they changed there name

Why is this song or the name "Redskins" derogatory to Native Americans? every time I hear the name Redskings or this song I think of Indian bravery/courage/tradition not some racist or other negative connotation about Indians---this stupid social correct culture has gotten out of hand
It had a negative connotation but actually lots of native supported the football team and that's even how they got their mascot and name so it's really just people who aren't native that are claiming offense to a culture that they're not a part of which is further silencing those people I feel. I'm Native myself from the Lakota tribe
At least the eagles sounds passionate and up to date while this song sounds like it was created in 1776. Now, someone is going to try to be a smartass and say "Music wasn't around in 1776" so dont bother.
