Haili’s Hawaiian Food has been a community staple just like the food they have served since the 1950s. This week, they are serving up their last orders on Sunday, June 30.

Classic local food and culture are so intertwined in Hawaii. It saddens my heart to watch both fade away with each passing day.

When we thought things can go on forever, sometimes time can change things doesn’t last. See this restaurant must be like childhood, adulthood they loved so much remembering the 100s of customers came to dine, laugh and joy will forever be a memory.

@@Critique808 🤷🏽‍♀️ Don’t know. Probably because most “Hawaiian food” restaurants are owned by Asians, the culture where chicken long rice actually comes from. So essentially they just open “Hawaiian food” restaurants to appropriate, exploit and commodify the Hawaiian culture. But noodles were not part of the Hawaiian diet or any Polynesian diet… we didn’t even know how to make noodles, nor did we have the ingredients to make noodles.
