@@---tc8km HAHAHA do you mean a plague doctor? That's so funny. Me too!! Mines not cute from the front but it's not bad but from the side it's obnoxious
@@NiceGood-xj3jm hahaha back tracking on your comment? So front on I dont mind it so much, as my features are big, big eyes, big lips but side on, I hate my profile ! I may just get filler, just a little correction.
Back in the 70's-80's and 90's there was a model named Violetta Sanchez, she worked almost exclusively with Yves Saint Laurent, doing ads, shows and when that era was over she worked for Thierry Mugler..she has a GREAT nose, so much character and expression in her face without even moving a brow...another model with a nose and great face and style is Jerry Hall.... Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld's muse and 80's super personality was Ines de la Fressange, she had a long nose but her proportions were extremely balanced.
My nose tip is all over the place, it's bulbous, assymetrical and the septum is kind of sticking out too much🤧 but it's mostly noticeable on selfies, and when I told my best friend (who has a big nose herself, just a different type) I felt insecure about my nose, she was like "what nose, are you crazy?" At least it looks better than when I was a teen, gaining a few kgs helped a lot, and in general people have told me that I had a glow up about the age of 19-20. Having big curly hair helps too, even shorter styles work for me.
I have this same exact nose shape! 💚I thought I was the only one! As I've gotten a bit older, I've kinda "grown" into it enough that it doesn't look as awkward as my teenage years. Thank goodness. Lol Those years were a struggle. And I still hate selfish. I still can't find an angle that doesn't put all emphasis on my nose. 😅
I’m sure the content of this video was well thought out and interesting but the amount of sound effects made it impossible for me to concentrate on what was being said.
Love this! Mine is like Prianka's. My nose bridge makes it look like I have circles under my eyes. I'd be interested in more specific makeup tips for those of us with really pronounced but straight nose bridges.
I wish you would have talked about Sarah Jessica Parker‘s short, curly hair in the early episodes of sex and the city because it was short but curly and I think that hairstyle flatters her the most
SJP has a really narrow face and with such curly hair like hers, the shorter the hair, the more width the hair adds to the face which I think is why it's flattering for her! I personally like her long hair better but that's just me :)
Your videos are so useful that I even watch some twice in order to memorize all great tips :) I think I will use notepad to write them down☺Thank you for your amazing work🥰😻 Best of luck precious!🐇
You are such a sweetheart ❤️❤️ thank you so much for the kind words!! I’m so glad you find my videos helpful and comments like this motivate me to make better content! Thanks for your support 🙏 truly appreciated!
My nose (and middle third) is a bit like Paris'. I liked the way you explained it. I recently got a french bob cut, because I like a 'cuter' look(/minimizing the middle third) instead of a more glamorous one for myself.
I’m glad you liked my explanation! I’m a huge fan of the French bob - I think it’s cute like you said but you can also glam it up easily with a bit of styling! ❤️
Precisely! I love this haircut 🤗 I would by the way be very interested in an overview of which types of bangs would suit different facial proportions, but that's just an idea. If you ever start a service for this type of personal facial analysis, I would definitely buy it 😊
@@SofiaCalotti aww you are so sweet, thank you so much for the compliment! I’m actually planning a topic on “bangs vs no bangs” so I’ll talk about different styles of bangs in that video! 🥰 I’m also working on getting a website up and running pretty soon to provide personalized consulting so stay tuned for that as well ❤️❤️❤️
Very knowledgeable and clear. You missed one caSe of prominent nose at least though: turned up or protruding while in profile. They look even more prominent if you have some overbite. Another case, not as bad and similar to the high bridge is a bump in the middle. Finally, There are also " eagle-like" profiles, like a hook. Ipersonally have a big, turned-up, bump in the middle, wide tip note... not sure how to hide that...
Yes - upturned noses definitely! I think with upturned noses your nostrils are more visible from the frontal view, so it would be beneficial to avoid styles that draw more emphasis to the area (like red lips for example)!
Noses are such an ethnic feature but even if you must go out of your way to limiting ethnic diversity, there’s not much variation here at all. None of these address thick skin/weaker cartilage or flared nostrils and there are white celebs that fit this mold (Melissa McCarthy, (Lady Gaga - for example)
Me, with a long, broad, and fleshy nose 🤡 I'm glad I like my nose, because it would be exhausting trying to correct or compensate for natural and permanent features all the time! 😅 I appreciate that Jenn didn't say that any certain look is better or ideal, she just knows that some people have certain goals, and she's giving great tools to achieve those goals.
Omg I’ve always though I had a very long face but you are right it is actually my nose that makes it look longer 😮 I have a SJP face. Thanks a lot, very enlightening ! Bummer is that my hair are super straight 😅 thanks
What about for wide, round nose at the tip? I wish it was more angular and the eye is drawn to it because my eyes are smaller and balanced and my lips are thin.
please stop with the dings dings dings its so annoying my friend and I can't even focus on what you're saying. were just waiting on the ding because we know it will eventually come at us
Explains why everyone suddenly having the exact same eyebrow styles or lip filler shape or whatever (as these things go in and out of style) looks ridiculous on some people
I really do hope the super heavy microbladed eyebrows (ones that look like they're stamped onto the face with permanent marker) fade for people before it goes out of trend... I got my eyelines tattooed 10 years ago and they said it would go away in 2-3 years and it hasn't 😂
Hi, what happens when you have a longer forehead and chin proportion, but shorter nose proportion. How do you balance it? Especially if you must wear some version of bangs to cover bad 11 and forehead wrinkles. Thank you. Your videos are very informative, and you give helpful examples.
Hi! I’m glad you find my content informative ❤️ Based on your description I can make some general recommendations but please keep in mind that they may not be accurate as I need to see the actual face to make more accurate recos! First of all if you prefer wearing bangs, I’d suggest a thinner style of wispy bangs or curtain bangs so parts of your forehead are exposed, rather than a heavier style / blunt bangs. Covering your entire forehead will highlight the imbalance between your short middle third and long lower third and exposing parts of your forehead will help with drawing less attention to your proportions. For your long lower third, I would suggest using layers to make the hair around your chin/lower third area less heavy, as thick/heavy hair will create more contrast and highlight your lower third more. Using a lighter hair color, wearing your hair up, or a pixie cut are all great choices for drawing the emphasis away from your lower third, but the specific style would depend on your other features as well as your preference! I have a playlist that focuses on talking about the lower third of the face if you’re interested in learning more, and I’m also working on creating a website to make consultations available soon, so stay tuned for an update if you’d be interested in a personalized consultation with me 🥰 In the meanwhile I hope these general recommendations help!!
Hi!! Would love to add this to my topics list but I’d like to narrow it down for the purpose of showing the relevant examples!! Any specific celebrities you think have similar features as you?
@@stylerefinement oh you sooo sweet, yes i know angelina jolie😎by the way just joking,no i cannt remember it right now and if i find i will leave a comment
POTENTIALLY Sarah Jessica Parker? I could be wrong, not sure if her cheekbones and jaw are prominent. Grace Jones has prominent bone structure, but she was very much following a certain style, and I’m not sure her eyes are small. Tatjana Patitz?
I do not like the sounds in the background that rings, it is very distracting and is placed too frequently. It is difficult to concentrate on what your saying.
This is my favourite video you've ever done. So much of this applies to me! I have a long nose and long face. I've watched this one multiple times. I may have already commented. I can't remember anyway love your work!
just found your channel and i really love your insights and the way you explain everything! i'd be curious to see what tips you have for a nose that is very short!
Thank you and welcome to the channel!! I have a video coming out in a couple of weeks on Anya Taylor-Joy that talks a little bit about short noses, but I’ll see if I can deep dive into the topic a little more as well ☺️
I have a sharp jawline and sharp nose (I look like my brother's twin except we are years apart lol) and I look best in a pixie cut but also look really good in super long hair. It's like there's no in between 😥😊
I have a small round-diamond face and naturally curly hair and I fell like i can't wear my hair with too much volume and curl cause unless I wear bold makeup, it will distract from my face like i'm not even there. I always wear a fluid haircut without layers, and this way I feel like my hair is a better frame that won't overpower my features. But Until I saw this video, I had no idea why, I thought it's just all in my head. And people tend to tell me they like my hair fluffy, but that's just cause they like the voluminous hair, not how I look with it. And I have a big nose but I never disliked it, I think a shorter more dainty nose in combination with my Bambi eyes would have made me look more childish, which already is an issue in my case, people still think I'm 18 and I'm actually 34. Not that I'm complaining :)) At least with this nose I can look more serious when needed.
Ahh thank you for bringing it up - I should have mentioned it in the video. If you want to bring less prominence to your nose, avoid a middle part! A middle part draws the eyes down the center of the face so it highlights your nose area more. Hope that helps! ❤
In Hailey Bieber's case, her brow lift makes her forehead appear shorter. That in turn makes her nose & middle third appear longer. Also, her nose job that narrowed her nose makes it now look longer. Originally, all three thirds of her face were in perfect balance. Surgery can create new problems and imbalances.
Hi! I'm sure we can narrow it down if we look at it closer :) But a general rule of thumb to follow is the last tip I shared using Priyanka as an example - if you want to draw the emphasis away from your nose, lighten the heads of your brows!
great and informative video! also watched some of your other videos and really like how well you explain. I just really wish your audio effects weren't as loud🙈 I'd like your videos even more without them
I have a wide nose from the front with a slight bump from the side. I’ve actually had a consultation with a plastic surgeon about this. He told me I have a good nose but it’s my decision. It was eye opening. I didn’t go through with plastic surgery. We are our worst critics. Your nose is not as big as you think it is. 🖤 also if it IS big or long just think about how beautiful all of the examples in this video are.
I rock a pixie but have a long nose. So do both my sisters. We also rock long and medium hair. But we don't always care for wide hairstyles on us all, and I'm not sure why that is....
Here's my most recent video that touches on prominent forehead: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1TvUWyLKXgo.html so check it out! I also have videos on blunt bangs and on Halle Berry (pixie cut) that talk about the topic as well ☺
The part about shorter hair drawing more attention to your face makes me think of when I went to a new hairdresser during covid, so I was wearing a mask, and I wanted a shoulder-length bob. She asked me to take my mask off for a second so she could see my face, and then she was like, "oh, you're good, you can definitely have that haircut." Was she seeing whether I had a feminine enough face or too big of a nose? How offensive would it have been if she'd said, "I wouldn't get that haircut - it draws attention to your nose"?
Doesn't the space between your eyebrows affect how wide the nose appears? I think I saw a video by Wayne Goss about this. My sister has super wide-set eyebrows and she's self-conscious about the size of her nose, so I taught her how to draw in her eyebrows a bit more to make her nose appear smaller. Is this wrong? Wouldn't the same apply to the Priyanka?
Drawing your eyebrows closer can make the nose itself look slimmer, but it can also draw MORE attention to the middle of your face! So if you want to draw less attention to the nose, softening the heads of the brows can actually help with that ☺️
I saw the Wayne Goss video too and tried drawing my brows closer. It totally works on me, I look better! But I also have a heart shaped face (wide forehead) and slightly wide set eyes so I think it balances those features!
My nose appears to be the other way around -- it looks fat when you look at me head-on, but it's small, straight, & delicate looking in profile. Ugh, why couldn't it be the other way around??
This is different from what I’m used to hearing which is if you want your nose to look slimmer, draw your eyebrows closer together. Although in the Priyanka example I can see the subtle difference but also see the difference using the first example I mentioned when others have shown it (drawing eyebrows closer). Can this be explained?
Hey! So they’re both true, but here’s the difference… When you draw your brows closer it can help with making your nose bridge look slimmer. But when you draw them apart, you’re actually drawing less attention to the area as a whole visually. So if you want your nose to appear slimmer but you’re okay with drawing the attention to the nose area, draw them closer OR if you want to draw the eyes away from the area visually, draw them further away ☺️ Hope that helps!! ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for all the questions btw - I feel like you’re giving me lots of topic idea to create new vids about! 😜
@@stylerefinement that explains a lot! That really helps me pinpoint what I want to achieve, basically draw less attention to the nose area! Thank you!
I have the exact same issue. Similar nose to Priyanka's and full brows. I used to overpluck my brows in my youth (hello, early 2000s!) and as a result the inner corners of my brows were pretty far apart. Now i pretty much leave my brows alone, except for plucking out the unibrow at the very centre lol. So the inner corners are much closer together (however, the hairs there are much sparser than the rest of my brows and since i don't fill them in, it doesn't give off a very intense look) I always thought the inner corners of my brows being closer together would make my nose appear slimmer! But now i also see what you mean by, drawing attention to the centre area of the face. Now am super confused 😅😅
@@minervarose7664 It's true that the brows being closer together can make your nose slimmer, but in the end it ends up drawing more attention to the middle of the face and hence your nose, so I actually suggest the opposite of making your brows further apart so that you can draw the eyes away from it as a whole! In the end it's a preference and how you like each of the looks though 😃
@@stylerefinement i agree! Personally, after the horrors of overplucking in my youth, it's refreshing to just leave them alone for the most part (plus yes, i am lazy 😝) they are also not super dark, thick or bushy (specially not at the inner corners) and i don't fill them in either...so i think it should be ok 😊😊
Believe it or NOT,,,,in Asia like China/Korea. Lots of ppl have small short tall skinny nose. I am not talking about Southeners tho, more like mid China, from Si Chuan/(panda province), or shanghai, n Jiangsu/ Zhejiang area.
Love your videos but could you maybe use less sound effects? It sounds like a video game and is really distracting from the helpful information you share
When there's multiple concerns, it's important to understand what your priority is first. Are you more concerned about your short forehead or is it the nose that concerns your the most? I do have a short forehead video as well so you should check it out if you're interested :)
Tiny noses went out of style in the 80’s-2010’s, and only came back in with the rise of “influencer” culture, and that because of the cameras used which make everything in the foreground, like noses, appear larger and longer. So the trend toward extreme body proportions followed with some parts, like noses and waists, going smaller and other parts being made larger, all to compensate for the cameras distortion. It’s unfortunate that this trend promotes those unnatural proportions and features to the population because the nose adds a lot of character and distinction to a face, and all of that is lost when the nose is surgically changed, unless the tweak is very minor.
i alr know the answer to this but i'm just curious to see if my big nose is big bcs i have a big nose but i'm not sure if it's a big nose even tho i lived 18 years and see my nose everyday in the mirror and know my nose is the only thing people see
You should use a lighter color for your brow mascara! I have really dark hair and I find Japanese products are the best at effectively lightening my dark brow hair :)
I think that big nostrils is a factor that gets highlighted more with a bold lip color because our eyes are drawn to the area more! Sticking to more subtle colors of lip may be helpful :)
I would say try combining the makeup tip I provided with Priyanka Chopra as an example (lightening the heads of the brows) to draw the emphasis away from your nose bridge area, and also the tip I shared with SJP as an example!
Please can you do a video for mature faces. I have a long face and long nose but when I try some things you suggest to make my face less long they just highligh my crows feet! Help!
Well i have a pretty wider and a more bad looking nose than shown in the video. The thing is that i am really concerned about it but also i am a teen so kinda ignoring brows (my mum wouldn't allow me to a parlour for eyebrows for sure). I have been planning to get a refresh look by shortening the hair. Will it look good on a person like me with a wider nose? ....waiting for ur personal perspective✨
Hi love! It’s really difficult to tell you my exact recommendation without seeing your face, but I can tell you that short hair tends to bring more emphasis to your facial features. If you have a long nose short hair is great at shortening the nose/face visually, but if your main goal is to draw attention away, short hair would not be my recommendation. You should also consider the colour of the hair, as a lighter colour creates a less of a harsh contrast between the hair and skin and will help with bringing less emphasis to the facial features. Hope that helps! ❤️
Do you have a video for tips for a longer lower third? I can find videos for longer middle and top thirds, but I have a long face due to my lower third more than anything
Longue n'ose long face thenbthey actualy are l'oeil regarde la distance des sourcils almi d la bouche with a long n'ose long face to reduce ::: short haïr . If soft face. Long haïr pour éviter de donner plus d'attention au nez . Si le nez et vraiment grd. Nez grand et grosse narine , long haïr , ou blanchir les zones haute du front
girl I'm so confused I saw this video and I kind related to the caractheristics you pointed out, but then I measured my third ratio and turns out that my mid one is the smallest compared to the other (in terms of centimeters the forehead one is 6cm, the nose is 5,5 and the last one is also 6). I'm so confused right now but anyways thank u for the videos they're really great!
Short nose doesn't necessarily mean small nose! You could have a short middle third with a wide nasal width, which would still bring more attention to your nose area!
Informative Video, but these "game" sounds drive me nuts. They are used a bit too excessively... not everything that appears on-screen needs to be accompanied by a random sound.
