Go for it! We have a pretty similar face shape and I've been very happy with a not quite shoulder length bob for a while. I've tried everything from pixie to bra strap length over the years and this is by far the most flattering cut, I've ever had. It's amazing, how much more confident one feels with a good haircut. For styling, try a blow dry brush, like the Revlon One-Step (I'd recommend the smaller of the two sizes). It's not terribly expensive and with fine hair, styling will take you no more then 15 minutes or so.

@@justinhickox Yes, I actually had a Bob for many years but was afraid to take the step; I actually just recently got my hair shortened (about three inches off the back) and it does look a bit healthier but the change is not quite enough. I’m excited to try all of your advice!

I love the Bob look on Christine. Awesome hairstyle for her. I was a licensed Esthetician years ago at the Premier Salon at Macy's. When applying moisturizer I recommend applying in an upward position on the face, neck and decollette area.

Love the shorter length. All Justin's tips seemed right on. Doing a few highlights you can blend in with the grays and get used to the whole thing in time. As you grow out your color, you can do highlights and a few color or "warm lights" in too. whatever suits. Shoulder length is very versitile and attractive. Good luck Christine! XO

The bob with bangs looks best on her. Switching her part was a big change also. I don't have a widow's peak as she does but have always had a strong cowlick on the right side. I usually part my hair left to center on the opposite side of the cowlick. Also, I'd like to add your wife is adorable and funny. Love your videos.

I like the part on the other side, and the highlighted bob cut. I like her glasses, but maybe a lighter color frame would look nice. I know it’s about the hair, but my theory is when your glasses blend in with your skin tone your facial features stand out more. ☺️

Definitely lighter frames, the clear pink would be gorgeous on her. We no longer need to have our glasses match or ‘go with’ what we are wearing. The clear colors are very popular right now. Yes, I work in an optometrist office. Oh yeah her hair, shorter looks good on her & makes her hair look a lot thicker. Perhaps a little stacking in the back (?), give her a golden blonde money shot to lightly frame her face. Some caramel & golden blonde baby highlights, not a lot but enough to see. I’m 66 & my hair is very dark brown & wavy-almost curly, just starting to get a few grays. When my hair is NOT colored, people think it is because it’s super dark. When I do color it, like a balayage or ombré, people think it’s natural. Crazy I know, they say “your hair can’t be that dark at your age”, they are wrong. 😂

Hi Justin! Love the bob with bangs! also, I think it’s great that you’re open to trying skin care. I’m always trying to encourage my husband to do the same. He works in a factory and the chemicals and pollutants take a toll on his skin. Like you, he’s a man’s man, but he’s learning that skin care is something we can all benefit from. Gosh, I wish my husband would. He's the lowest level of albino -- platinum hair, pale pink skin, but he has blue eyes, not pink. He's already had pre-cancers frozen off. He can't stand SPF in his eyes, but he does wear a broad brimmed hat. But a moisturizer would be great...

The full bob looks great and I think the way to go. You are so good! Something I learned years ago when I was box coloring my hair, if you wet your hair before applying the color it will take at different strenghths and therefore look more natural. It looks to me like she is using box color so thought I would throw that out there for ya. Keep up the good work. Really enjoy your blog.

Thank you so much! You’re way too kind! You’re spot on with the idea of wetting your hair. The only concern is that it will affect different colors differently. It essentially dilute the color. That can work well in some circumstances but in others, it can leave too much of the underlying pigment showing. For instance, it could make light brown hair Look more orange. Not sure if that makes sense, but I very much appreciate your insight on that!

I discovered City Beauty by accident several years ago, and I agree the products I’ve tried are quite good-especially for a “more affordable” affordable line. The packaging is quite nicely minimal, and any scent is very light and pleasant. When I cannot get my usual French skin care products, City Beauty is a great substitute.

Love the bob look, and the idea of adding highlights too. I think Christine should move to a lighter shade of brown because that dark color becomes too harsh as we age. Highlights will help with the transition to a lighter shade.

I totally know what you’re saying. I think you’re correct with the idea of adding some lightness to it, but actually keeping some depth around the hairline will help to make her eyes pop, and keep richness in her skin. Even if the roots were a shade darker than the rest of her hair, that would be a big difference. This way she could have lighter hair, but still have the benefit of the depth around her face. Not sure if that makes sense.

This was easy! Bob and highlights! She would really look pretty great! She's having second thoughts about hair dye and at 60 she could start to transition a little. Highlights help with that! I even think maybe a few more highlights could work. Also, the first thing I noticed was her part or lack of part. A sideswept bang looks like it would minimize that. I would love to see if she takes your advice and if she will send an "after" picture. She really is pretty and a different hairstyle will help show that and maybe make her look younger!❤

After seeing your other video, I've been parting my hair on the opposite side. What a difference- and have received numerous compliments! My beautician cut it parted in the middle so if the going gets too tough, I can part back the other way. It will take some time but I love it. Thanks

Love the bob at the end. Height is something I learned to work on since I have a fairly round face. Usually blow drying in the opposite direction is the easiest way to do it for me. Then using a round brush finishes it off the way I want it.

I love this! You’re spot on. Anytime you have fullness in your face a bit of height on top and removing some of the volume from the sides goes along way to elongating it. I love that you figured this out!

While the bob looks healthy, I think updating her long hair (trim a few inches only), glasses and makeup will give her the most youthful look. She appears to have healthy hair and skin.

Switching her part to the opposite side made such a huge difference!

I like ALL of your suggestions, Justin! I was paying particular attention when you were talking about lots of thin hair bc that is my situation as well. But my hair gets to her straightness after I use my flat iron; other wise humidity has my hair looking like Bozo the Clown with a little curl. 😄
