When Shan sais it's flu season did anyone else just groan inwardly? And I can't be the only one who feels so wistful looking back at winter/ Christmas 2019.
That bathtub chat was just what I needed to hear, I’m currently in the throes of final year of university and dealing with ‘the guilt’ whenever im not working. I haven’t seen my boyfriend in a month and he’s here for two days later this week and I just sat and felt guilty about the fact we’re gonna go and see a film instead of me sitting and writing my dissertation which isn’t due for another FOUR MONTHS is just bonkers. So I’m gonna go see that film, go to a Christmas market and live my life!
That little clip of Carrie putting on her makeup in the middle of the video gave me flashbacks to old videos when she still lived in her parents house. I don’t know if it was the camera angle or the bare walls, but quite honestly it was such a sweet nostalgic moment. Look how beautifully far she’s come :)
i really needed that bath chat. i just had my gcse mocks and i’ve told myself that i’m doing no revision until january, because i’ve become so burnt out. i’ve had so many people say that i’m being lazy for doing that (no friends, family or teachers. just random people from my school or friends of family). i really need a break, i’m currently at my breaking point and if i continue how i’ve been going for the past month and a half i will break down. thank you for saying that.
I got the chance to show my boyfriend around London last month, having visited on the train often growing up. It's late at night when I love the city the most, the lights and less people, stunning! Loved the vlog as always 😊
Personally, I don't like London for the most part. It obviously has some great aspects to it but that comes with the price of overcrowding, increased prices and a number of other things. However, there is one exception to this for me. The two weeks before Xmas. Then it becomes something else, especially at night, with the lights, the toy shops, the warm food and drink and just a generally happier feeling flowing.It's perfect to give you that Xmas mood. :-)
What you said about productivity really struck me. Once this week is over I’ve promised myself to do something nice for myself. There’s never enough hours in the day!! And the run up to Christmas is so stressful and busy! Trying my best to take time out for myself so thank you for the reminder. A reminder for us all!!

Preach to letting yourself make your own balance of work and self-care time! People work differently at different things, we are all on different stages of journeys, it's just about respecting each other's way of doing things! The culture of 'lazy fear' is real! Thank you for addressing this!
Saw Les Miserables last night and oh my god. Every member of the cast was absolutely incredible. Your version of 'I dreamed a dream' was absolutely beautiful and it was so sweet how you took the time for every one at stage door ❤️
It always makes my day when you upload a video. I love getting these little sneak peaks at theatre life, and all the little glimpses of London which was a second home to me when I was growing up. Hope you and the rest of the cast are all feeling better now after being so unwell. Take care.
It is so hard in my program to take a day off. I put it in 30 hours of additional practice and I’m so close to burning out. I was so close to crying when I heard you talking about taking the self care you need, because it is so true. I really should take some time to relax. Thank you ❤️

Okay not a professional at all but can we just appreciate the change in tone and voice of carrie at the beginning of the video and the end. You can definitly tell she enjoys being around oliver. You can practically hear the admiration and love through her voice at the end whilst with Oli. My heart is melting 😊

I'm currently at college to become a social worker! And this past year, all of my scwk classes have had some aspect of self-care in them, and let me tell you, I cannot stress the importance of self-care. Somehow, our society has made it seem like self-care only consists of an occasional bubble bath, but no! We need to implement routine self-care routines to maintain a sense of well-being, which can include picking out your outfit for the next day before going to bed at night. These simple, daily tasks you can use to keep the stress at bay, and also have an emergency self-care routine to help you out when it gets too much--it's not laziness, people! NO no no! I have to take care of myself so that I can help you! If someone is taking a day for self-care, do not accuse them of being lazy. Instead, focus on how they are ensuring they can perform their job to the best quality by taking care of themselves. You can't pour from an empty cup, and it's not outrageous when you have to take time to fill your cup again.
Seen the trailer for the Live in Cinemas Theatre performance at 'The Station' Cinema at Richmond, North Yorkshire and I really excited about that. Unfortunately I will be missing it but I am sure it was a brilliant performance all round.🙂👍

I have learnt that I need to take life a lot slower than most people. I have depression and I get tired very easily. I often find myself in a game of tug of war with myself, knowing I am doing my best but also I tell myself I am very lazy. It’s hard sometimes

Aaaah I didn’t know High Fidelity was playing in London and much less that Olli is in it 😱 It’s one of my favorite books and I‘ve listened to the musical quite a bit. Unfortunately it closes on the 7th and I‘ll miss it by two weeks 😢

Omg i feel you a lot about the lazy thing. I'm going to college in the mornings and at 3 p.m i'm working in a beautiful shop in one of the biggest mall's company in my city, Barcelona. I arrive at home almost 10: 30 p.m very tired and burn out from all the work. I only have Sunday as a day-off and that's the day where I have to study, do homework or prepare an activity for my theater and singing lessons on Tuesday (at 26 I had the courage to join a theater group thanks to you xx ). And I don't want to quit any of those things because I love studying tourism and be in a theater group. I'm only working to pay my studies. The point is, my family call me lazy if I quit any of those things just because I need time for myself... And after a week with this new routine of not having time for me, today I had a huge migraine and I had to miss my morning class.... My body is telling me that I need to sleep a lot more if I want to keep working at least the six months that I have to.
Hey Carrie, I just want to say thank you so much for the talk on productivity etc - I’m taking it to the extreme probably, but personally I’m thinking of dropping out of uni (studying music) because all it does is burns me out and makes me miserable - and I don’t think that’s the way it should be! Like obviously I see the benefits of uni etc but if the whole aim is that you have to be working yourself to death I really don’t understand it. Anyway saw you both at the gielgud and on the screening this week and you were AMAZING, as were the rest of the cast especially Shan❤️
I love the have a dance for a specific thing, keeps the joy in and the energy up. I wish we could get away with it in other sectors... 😝 even though I worked in TV my colleagues were far from impressed by my photocopier dance. To be fair the 24601 one is far superior. Maybe shudda tried that 😂
