The anesthesia is absolutely necessary in order for the procedure to be done. They are given lidocaine to numb the area. It depends on the facility or company but some give Valium or a medication similar in the beginning and patients tend to fall asleep during the procedure at first. But after a while they stay awake while the hair grafts are being placed

This is only the third video I've watched of you but I'm hooked simply because I appreciate how much impact your pushing. Your progressing the normalization of being exactly who you are. You are a brave soul! I've had a lot of surgeries and people think I'm crazy cause even after my tummy tuck and skin removal surgery from my abdomen I was basically up and walking 2 weeks later. This was incredibly helpful. I used to have SO much hair. I remember complaining about how heavy it was. About 70% of it fell out and never came back. My hair actually thinned too. Hair transplant surgery is a dream for me. Yeah it's just hair, but when you're in your 20s and you have bald spots bigger than your grandfather, it can really hurt your confidence. It gives me a sense of ease to see someone I've known for years, I had been a fan for a while but I met Jeffree at Bamboozled or Warped Tour in like 2007 or 2008, go through this surgery that I've honestly been a little afraid of. Hopefully one day I can have this surgery which I think would really help me not just with looks but really emotionally in a way. Thank you for sharing ❤️
