for some reason i'm really drawn to those albums. haircuts for men, gods of something, desert sand feels warm at night, modest by default all those artists make great relaxing songs ngl
I've been listening to Track 5 for an hour straight. The John Klemmer/Black Moon saxophone sample and the alien-sounding remix to the saxophone part is majestic.
I know what you mean. It's like going for a drink at a mignight bar, hearing this play and never being able to leave again! I think if I stay here long enough my old friends will come by and we'll sit in the groove, nod some and just be. Precious.
For some weird reason this kind of music makes me intensely nostalgic; there’s something about the synths and saxophone that remind me a lot of music I heard growing up
Why are people in comments always writing things like "this is nice but it isn't vaporwave. It's more downtempo chillstep house / nostalgia-core with some jazzy downsampled beats and citypop influences. great mix tho"
People say that you’ll associate certain songs with certain memories. For me, it’s that first track that’s my favorite just because every time I hear it, I think about my vacation in the Oregon coast. My first time ever seeing the Pacific Northwest. We rented a house right next to the beach, and I could hear the ocean right outside my window while I draw. It also helped me sleep. Like I was sleeping on the couch with the windows open and it was some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. While I was drawing, I had this mix playing in the background. The first track’s relaxed and calm yet festive vibe, the steel drums, the kind of laid back melody, it really drew me into the mix. And now every time I hear that first track, I’m always reminded of the Oregon coast. Thank you for making such a good mix!
@@alexspander7798 nothing ambient/new about it, the first one sounds like Pet Shop Boys - In The Night mixed with Art of Noise. EDIT: it's apparently Gary Low - I Want You slowed down and looped....how... original.
Track 7... it sounds like they took an instrumental of Bill Withers "Lovely Day" and then overlaid an instrumental of *another* song on top of it. But I can't think of what that other song is... somebody help me out!
The first sample is amazing. I first heard it on a track called Beach by Miss Kittin (discovered in 2009) and then washed out during a snowstorm in 2013. OG is an 80s italo track called I want you by Gary Low. The sample that keeps giving.
I think it's a remix/Reharmonization (I don't know what the right term is) of Bill Wither's Lovely Day which is why I find it special too. Such a brilliant take on it.
Awesome, mate! Keep the good work and taste in cool tunes up! The last 3rd part just blew my mind!! Appreciation and respeect! Cheers from a German dude iliving on a Greek Island!
Just Wow ❗ 😮 Very impressive. Very refreshing and different. I have no idea what they are singing about, but I don't give a shit. They make a beautiful sound. The music is so classically cool. 👍🙏🥁 very surprised by these artists from Japan 🇯🇵? I think. Many are classified as ' downbeat barbershop styles'. Again, I have no idea why they call themselves that and are too old to care, but I don't care. 🤭The music is like a creamy vanilla cheesecake on a Sunday afternoon. Just perfect. 👍🙏
These discs are incredibly good. I don't even think they are real cd's. But the quality and the cover art make them seem like a CD I bought while in Japan.
I'm old enough to remember downloading the square pusher albums off irc and still ordering the import CD from UK distribution....90s was the vibe open up winamp and listen to the avant garde Bass!!! of Sir Juicy Luke Vibert after a rave n sum tagging a few trains on the Detroit weekend 👍🏿🔥💯
Love HFM but isn't the first song just a rip off of Feel it all around by Washed Out? I guess all of this music is remixes and samples but seemed a little more on the nose than normal
I am still trying to figure out all the "waves", is this a real vinyl? That first track is a cover of a cover, I am trying to figure out which version this is. I am a seasoned metal musician, but am a noob to this type of music, what in the fuck is vaporwave?
Track 7, you think it's the sample to lovely day but ITS NOT. The sample is from an anime call "How to raise a boring girlfriend" and I it appears during a date scene (there were many "date" scenes but I think it's the mall "date")

@@waqaero nice one! I can see where it fits in but I must be thinking of another vaporwave/barber-ish? song that uses the same melody of the start song If you know where the mix of the background sample, drums piano and synths came from specifically I would love to know!!! ❤
Man this is some Kicking stuff sounds Rythms Drums Wow what a cool flavor reminds me of music back in the 70s and so on, take care and have a great Sunday. Peace
I can't remember the original song of that was sampled in the first track. I remember it had a male vocal and it was slow. I slowed it down to 0.75 speed and sounds just right. Can't shazam it either. Anyone? Edit: it's Washed Out - Feel It All Around
