I am so sorry! I feel your pain. The owner of the salon where I work had a meeting on Monday and let us all know she's closing the salon...as of Tuesday!!! Apparently, she had not been paying what she owed on the purchase of the salon.😢

The girl with brown hair and the layers around the 3:10 mark doesn’t have a bad haircut. Her lighter hair (highlighted? sun lightening?) just shows where the layers are more than singularly colored hair. Plus the fact that her hair looks thinner/flatter than the inspiration pic. If she added some waves or curls, she wouldn’t be as upset with the cut. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Last one gave me a minor "war flashback" to that time in high school, when I was a foolish 15 yo who wanted to keep her hair quite long but also was not using any conditioner + most times I couldn't brush my hair properly because I would do so after wearing something like hoodie sweaters. In the end I had this huge clump of hair on the back of my head and I had to take an emergency trip to the hairdresser, who spent over 2 hours trying to comb it out, only to give up and say that it needed to be cut out. The clump was also close to my scalp, so she gave me a fairly short haircut too. 💀 I cried for literally one day and a half, and the next morning at school I had a really hard time taking my hat off. My father even had the gall to say that "maybe now you'll like to keep your hair short" (implying that shorter hair = less time to wash, rinse and dry it)). Joke's on him; the shortest I'm still willing to go when cutting/trimming my hair is shoulder length. Learned my lesson, tho: since that day I've been using conditioner regularly and have been brushing my hair before wearing anything but a simple tee or a top tank. 😅

I thought the guy getting his bowl cut with a bike helmet turned out pretty good. He used the shape of the helmet to make a mullet with shorter bangs. I think he got it right.

That last one, she doesn't take any proud in her profession. Look at the nasty bleached towel. Where is the rubber mat you put on your clients shoulders so you know the hair is straight when you comb it. The towel pushes the hair up in different places. Besides her just not cutting the hair correctly, combing it, even holds the sheers wrong. It is crooked.

I often wonder this when I see the bleach fails - I understand if the process causes the hair to be patchy that you would be unhappy but if the result is an allover yellow or orange, why is that different than some other unnatural color? Just leave it baby duck yellow or jack o' lantern orange! 😂

I wish, in all cases, that when a cut or style isn't right for the hair or the face, that the stylist would have the integrity to tell the client no. However, when you have to do that, have another option in mind that will be more flattering or be close to what they want. Many times, clients don't think of alternatives. If they insist, then you do it and know that if they're not happy, it's not because you didn't warn them.

Re: the person who started at 2:23, when I was younger, I wanted spiral curls more than anything, but I couldn't understand why my hairdresser couldn't make it happen. It seemed so easy. I now understand that the kind of hair I have, thin and fine, is never going to have thick spiral curls, no matter how many perms I get. It's just too fine and straight. We were just damaging my hair more every time I insisted we should try another perm.
