I’ve been using hairspray as setting spray for like two years now bc I found out that’s what makeup artists use for underwater shoots. Makes it waterproof! But it shouldn’t be a daily thing. I just do it for nights out or a day I really need my makeup to stay
So far the only Hairspray that has worked for me is the Swartzkopf Göt2b Glued. Waterproof and my makeup looked the same after 5 hours out in the sun. As a tip, moisturise your skin very well before putting the makeup on and after you are done, first use setting spray and then hairspray to minimise irritation.
Setting sprays are designed to be more skin friendly so if your putting hairspray which is something that basically dries down and locks your hair in place on your skin you’re gonna regret it. Hairspray may contain alcohol and lacquer which are a big no for your skin, it’ll leave it dry and irritated. If it does work for you I think your probably doing a full coverage look hence why it isn’t in direct contact with your skin
I love your videos and you should do some lip colors like you could put glitter on your lip gloss and then it looks literally and you can put extra glitter on it. What does using your hand and then I will look really pretty. I love your❤
The person in the first clip used Got2B glued which is a REALLY good hairspray that is strong and holds out for ages, i use it for wigs, and have also used it to protect/set my facepaint for millie !! It does work, you just need the correct hair spray that will do the job
not just any hairspray ofcourse though. that guy in the clip usedd Got2b glued spray, that's also being used to glue down wigs so ofcourse it works. you used another one.
Personally for me and my skin type I wouldn’t use hair spray, I have skin that can easily brake out from the littlest things, so hair spray would just personally make me brake out more, I used to use a lot of hair spray for school and cheerleading, and some would get on my forehead and my whole forehead would break out, so I say it could work but it may be bad for some skin types
as someone who does color guard, this is what we do for parades when its super hot and our makeup melts!! definitely wouldnt do it on a regular basis cause it might irrate the skin, but its great for performances.
My mum always used to do this to my face for dance competitions but I then got dermatitis and exma on my face (not bc of this ) so I have really sensitive skin so now I use setting spray but this is amazing
When the setting spray is sprayed onto your skin, the solvent evaporates, leaving behind the polymer. the polymer is a long plastic molecule whish is the same thing in hair sprays and hair gels. so youre basically putting a plastic film/coating/shield on your face
You need to use the strong hairspray I've been doing it for years because seriously setting sprays never worked for me and the hairspray i use (schwarzkopf strong styling extra strong hold) is what I've always used and it's never made my skin bad which is the other reason I've stuck with this method for so long
Yeah we'd do it all ll the time in theatre. Helps avoid getting the makeup on your costumes during quick changes or needing to reapply as much throughout the show. But its not magic and you'd still sweat off your makup. I remember the hairspray always made my skin breakout. But this was before setting spray was really a thing.
I use to do this with my brows and little makeup tings but sad thing is that some people get acne or it can cause acne from it. It’s a really good beauty hack tho!!!
OMG, do you remember that one time that Andrew sprayed James with hairspray for his make up challenge? Looks like Andrew actually knew what he was talking about. edit: ty so much for 100 likes
Hi James I have a really fun makeup challenge that I think you should do this might be really weird 😅 but anyways so you basically for every step of your makeup up you mix all of you favorite products for example foundation you would mix all of your favorite foundation products together and put it on you face the mix all of you favorite concealer to and put it on and etc. but for mascara, brows, highlighter you can just do your favorite product. I hope you see this🙏🏻🙏🏻thank you so much for all of help with makeup because I am new to makeup keep up the good work 💀🤭😂😭
