Can Haiti be the next film industry? The niche is huge, the cost is cheap, and the craft is cherished by all those who love Haiti and Haitian culture.
Thanks for watching!
Slight correction caught by @carliepierre1543 At 4:30, "Canada" was transcribed instead of "canal".

Just came across your videos! Great to meet you virtually. I am a fellow Canadian (Montreal) and Baha'i living in the south of Haiti, Port-a-Piment to be exact. If you get a chance to visit the south let me know, I would love to show you around. Have you reached out to Raoul Peck, the film producer? He's from Port-a-Piment, his house is next door to ours. If you would like to contact him let me know. Take care, welcome back to Haiti, and good luck with the film making. I am working on a pet project with the Minister of Tourism to improve and promote the Grotte Marie Jeanne cave system, the longest mapped cave system in Haiti, that is in our backyard.

Not to be rude, but we do not have the same creole. Haitians need to focus on themselves first, support their own before we can support anyone else or other countries. We have done enough already. Share it with ppl in your country or just post it on RU-vid. Our creole is closer to the ppl in the Caribbean

I believe the focus for Haiti is how to get rid of the gang activity and the kidnappings in Haiti
@lifewithShiva
@lifewithShiva 6 месяцев назад
Absolutely safety is a huge issue in many parts of the country, but if we can all focus on 1 part we can actually take actions on maybe it’s a start to dismantling the bigger stuff. Our history is powerful and hasn’t been told, our stories are slowly dying, the younger generations are feeling even more disconnected to their roots AND lost. Art has always influenced society and culture, which influences movements and change… so who knows?

Exactly,but gullibility and ignorance seems to be more acceptable.
@lifewithShiva
@lifewithShiva 6 месяцев назад
@@manfromthepast We are also big on agricultural, health, self sustainability and I’ve volunteered with a non-profit Haitian created and Haitian-led organization in these domains since 2007. Choosing to focus on what we can actually make a difference in, is what we believe to be optimistic, practical and walking the talk. It’s quite sad that it’s gullible and ignorant to you.

Why haitiwood ? Is it because theres hollywood ? There is no USAwood. Hollywood is a place in USA not because of the film industry , but theres a evergreen tree name Hollywood. There are many film companies in the USA that arent based in Hollywood California USA. So this wood thing like Nollywood , Bollywood , jollywood &Haitiwood .Wont make anyone a success onless real effort is put into the projects being done.
