I like how you can tell the man to his right is his dad. He keeps looking up to him for validation and encouragement. Also dad keeps checking on him to make sure he is okay. It is so cute.
It is intense to watch. I love when natives teach their young traditions. It is so important to teach traditions so their history is not erased. I’m American and have yet to experience a Haka but before I leave this earth I WILL. Blessings
I feel the exact same..before I leave this earth I hope to see the Haka preformed in person..I know in years past many people felt they could not teach their traditions and culture because it was frowned upon..'you're in America live like that' but it saddens me how many generations don't know the languages the traditions..but hopefully with time and understanding people will realize yes you're in America but you also have strong ties to the past..be proud of who you are. What you are..and remember people lost their lives to make it better for the newer generations..give them the respect and blessings for who they was..the most important words..respect and kindness and acceptance. 💝
Kia Ora Whaea can you please tell me the name of this Haka? also Your moko is awesome! He’s so inspiring and already he has such powerful mana. And it’s True regarding his name, the name Tristan is a warriors name of Celtic origin. May his life journey be blessed and may the Light of Io Matua Kore always guide him. Tihei Mauriora
As a Fijian i am blessed to be born into the pacific ring of islands rich with culture n tradition and most of all strength in humility. This is a beautiful example of it Vinaka NZ...
By the way he put down on that Haka, I would say yes, I think he would. You can see the values he's being taught in his warrior display. The pride of his dad (?) uncles beside him is evident. I'm very sure they let him know.
Seeing you put bairn down to describe the little man, brought a smile to my face,,my grandad was Scottish,,from the Great Glenn Strathspey, belong to a group of clan's called Chattis,, don't quote me,been a long time back to remember,, I'm part Maori,,grandad Anderson married a Maori lady,,and the rest is History as we say,now my we part Scott's bairns are carrying on just like this little champ,,yes,we Maori and Scottish people are very closely related,, might as well add Welsh, and Irish as well,, cheer's
That's right proud dad. (And we are proud of dad) Keep that tradition alive through your wonderful son. Obviously dad is proud of his son, his heritage and his relationship with his son.
... love how the camera shakes with the stomp, and how the Gentlemen close to the boy care and enjoy the moment. A sweet little reminder of how we should treat and teach our sons. Well done, and thank you.
Everytime I see haka it makes my hair stand on end! I get chills it is so powerful! And to see this little one not miss a beat and all the passion he has for what's going on is fantastic! I just absolutely love it! Thank you so much.
Love Nepal such genuine layed back hard working, loving caring people. From 1st hand experience my Niece is married to a lovely chap from there where they live with their 2sons and have been waiting to come back to New Zealand to live to be close with her Wànàu (family) 💜
This seems fun, as an American to learn and experience. It’s definitely emotional and rich with tradition that in America we don’t get to really experience. The Maori teaching and passing on traditions to their young is super good! And I hope to one day experience it *^*
this is how the culture lives on, something this powerful , this raw that fuels emotion , brings people together & reminds them of where they come from has to be passed on
What a beautiful way to see things taught and past on. If we don't teach and live what is handed down will be lost. What little I know of my family is so spotted that our history will be lost with my sons. How blessed all of you, your past, your present and your future will be. Thank you for sharing.
Brings a tear to my eye. Great to see tradition shared from generation to generation. Keep it going forever and always. Love u kiwi brothers and sisters
Quando una cultura è cosi forte . Senti l'energia attraverso il video. Amo i Maori tutto il mio rispetto per i Maori li porto nel mio cuore. Grandi Guerrieri
The young one had more passion and expression than some of the older guys! Someone spent a lot of time teaching and explaining to this young one. Glad to see the ways are being passed down.
Y así es como se enseña la cultura de cada pueblo, con ejemplo y ejecución para que nuestros niños aprendan, participen respeten y amen sus raíces, antepasa y a su pueblo
Wee wheels in the middle keeping up with the grown men was probably the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long time, and now I’m convinced the Māoris come out of the womb already knowing how to Haka 🥰🥰
As a preschool teacher I'm praying this fella is valued at his preschool and his culture respected. Children are so capable and this reminded me how much they are . I don't know why this made me so emotional, I guess it's that I want to see Maori excel and prosper
In New Zealand, we have "language nests" for pre schoolers to learn. These small kiwis are taught by the grandparents. Other native people around the world have copied our nests, from the Welsh to Native American tribes. Its passing on heritage. I'm European but my granddaughter is half Maori and at age nine speaks Maori very well. As she should in her own country.
I love how the guy with the yellow on his jacket looked down to see the boy following along and just broke out with a huge grin before trying to recompose himself lol
"Ka pu te ruha ka hao te rangatahi". There are so many positives here for us all in Aotearoa. Kids engaging positively with adults is just one. Mauri ora.
In nz you are born with a rugby ball and at 3 months most babies can recite a full haka already, just a joke but its truly a magnificent culture they have.
Love seeing the Haka, pulls at the very heart strings of my humanity. Something has just come to mind though, these fellows probably do not snore at all when they sleep, even though a lot of them are a little on the large side. The very exercise they're doing by all the actions they take in the haka, i.e.: Tongue manipulations, Throat movement, Mouth manipulations when they call out the Haka, Stance, Breathing bursts, Warrior stance, Arm movements, All movements are performed with zest and muscle thrust while burst breathing, deep inhalation ... burst exinhalation to the limit, Any movement one observes during the Haka attributes to exercising post that we in normal exercise do not use. The only thing that feccs it up, is a modern western diet, (old European diets and ways not included). Growing, eating and actioning a traditional diet with the exercise that performs it all into being, even in the tiniest of spaces, would change things health-wise for this beautiful warrior people. The Haka though, is from something far deeper. I hope more people would realise that Haka's are a sharing from the heart, an expression of culture and time, not a performance. It makes all the difference.
I have seen NZ/Maori women performing the HAKA. Guys.... YOUR WOMEN COULD END THE WAR IN #UKRAINE ! Send a couple of thousand NZ women over and perform the HAKA on the russians , they would run back home to momma screaming. You are A FORCE ! Bless you gals and guys! We are in this together.
I can watch this video all day ! Little angle who can do it just perfectly! And the father and the uncle I presume are doing good job with watching him ...cute situation..because it's tradition and I'm sure that the elders are doing good things with this tiny and cute little angle 💕

The way this strong todler looks to his/father male role model is a wonderful sight on top of the emotion that he is being allowed to express. AMAZING MALE Energy here and healthy. We should all take a page from you book and we would be better for it.
