That's what I thought. People thought pirlo was best at CAM and then Carlos put him as a deep lying midfielder and he transformed into an outrageously good regista
Yep, pirlo was the template and almost created a new role (deep lying playmaker). I always felt that role wouldn't work in the premiership until jorghino came along and proved me wrong.
It's incredible how this Inter lost big and important names and got even better. Onana (yes, he was important), Dzeko, Brozovic, Lukaku (don't want to get too much into him), and came players like Sommer, Pavard, Thuram and they been balling
Thats the Giuseppe Marotta effect. He's a transfer genius. Nobody can extract value from the market in the way he can. As long as Inter keep him they will continue to build competitive and successful squads for pennies. He was the transfer director at Juve when they returned to winning ways back in the early 2010s. He was the guy who brought in players like Pirlo, Vidal, Barzagli, Pogba, Tevez etc for peanuts. He quit Juve when Agnelli strongarmed the Ronaldo purchase because it was so contrary to his transfer philosophy and the clubs financial reach.
You know hakan is pulling the strings of the game when even the centerbacks go front of him to enemy halfside and only players on the entire pitch left on inters side is yann sommer and hakan with the ball under his feet looking for passing opportunities into enemy territory. Thay is magnificent to watch
I remember signing this guy for Liverpool on FIFA 15's Career Mode and becoming Pool's top scorer. Kind of a Bellingham thing. World class player and a personal favorite.
So did Pirlo, Santi Cazorla and so many more, I think it’s just a logical transition for an attacking midfielder to eventually become a deep lying midfielder especially if they have sufficient support from the rest of the midfield.
Many players did this as they got older, less mobile but more mature. Schweinsteiger, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard all moved from attacking midfield to defensive midfield. But the most obvious examples of a tactical switch (instead of age switch) is Andrea Pirlo.
Pirlo, Fabregas, Toni Kroos, played similar role as Calhanoglu right now. Even Wayne Rooney played as defensive midfielder because Man. United didn't have Scholes anymore. They all have good passing range..
If I don't see this man with near Gullit gang stats, or at least having attack and defense stat being near similar, in the next EAFC then the game's finished.
Ac Milan fan here I couldn’t believe it that we didn’t give him a new contract this is why AC Milan die as a club we did the same to oírlo and he went to Juve to burry us 😢
Bruno Fernandes has got the all tools to do this just needs discipline. United should get Wirtz and play bruno as a 8. Can see Portugal using Bruno as a 8 with silva as a 10 no need to use either as wingers as They got alot of quality
Just like Eriksen. But I feel like Hakan had more defensive duties in his pockets than Christian Eriksen. As the years went on, they both played more deeper and deeper. The only reason we don’t use Eriksen in more deep areas is because he’s doesn’t got the capacity to stop the attacks but Hakan has it. And we currently Casemiro and Kobbi Maino who can also slot in there. Anyways my point is that at the moment both players are not playing in the same role for their respective teams at the same moment. But we have seen Eriksen play this role earlier last season in couple games when we had no defensive minded midfielder and we had not Casemiro. For example, yall can see when we lost 4-0 to brentford away.
We always knew calha would be a good cdm especially in a 4 2 3 1, in a 4 3 3 as cdm it didnt really work. great player with nice shots and work ethic.. forza milan
I loved him at milan but I got mad when he started crying and said he moved to inter because he felt that he had no supporters at milan. Lol that was a lie. Also inter had won the league and we got second place with hakan in our squad (ac milan) and when he went to inter he said "we will win the league this year again" we? You weren't there when inter won lol. And what happened Ac Milan won it and inter didn't. So he LOST the league that year again. That's karma. But yea that's the reason for why I'm kinda butthurt over that. But objectively he's a great player and that's why I got mad, because we had a great player who chose to leave us. Anyway I'm glad for what we have now. Although I miss tonali even if things turned out how they did for him. I don't care about tonalis penalty I would still want him back. Even if we got alot of good players for him. I'm speaking from purely a emotional standpoint. Tonali would've been sooo loyal for us and that dream is gone. I hope he returns to us in the future but knowing our management we would only take him back for less than 5x the price we sold him for.
Got to know bro when he was playing for Leverkusen , saw him score a free kick , i immediately scrambled to buy him fifa , just to use him as my number 10
This is because you do t actually have to defend. There’s nothing to gain from mowing how to tackle and mark in top teams you always have the ball. You can’t do this at burnley.
Even Ibra was a smoke but you don’t see Inter fans crying about it. You mocked Hakan when you won the Scudetto. You never appreciated him when he was in your team. He joined the better Milan team in Inter. Remind me when was the last time you guys beat us🤔
