I still remember that game when he got injured vs. the Bucs. He was having a career game until the safety accidentally jumped on his knew and ankle at the same time. Nicks was never the same.
His prime was short, but I'll always have love for Nicks. He helped bring a championship to NY, what more can you ask for? The Cruz-Nicks combo was RIDICULOUS that year. Dude was a beast and the anti diva receiver.
Speed, Hands, Size, Strength, catching ability, break tackles, yards after catch… catch-in traffic ability, long ball catcher, clutch in big games… he did it all for the Giants, and was very underrated! I remember watching a Cowboys vs Giants game once back in like 09’ & Michael Irvin welcomed Nicks to the #88 club… I knew then he was the real deal. Long time NYG fan since 1996. Watched every game. He was different, and you couldn’t double him because they had Cruz who was shiftier. Crazy duo!!
Hurts me to see the highlights from that Buccs game. That’s where he sustained the career altering knee injury… probably my favorite Giant after Strahan. Born in 86 so the 2000s teams and later remain special to me
Giants fan here.... Hakeem was my favorite player, probably all time favorite Giant in the short time he's been with us because of his talent and his positive attitude (especially with the media. Despite his recent shit play, his attitude has always been great, never been the diva type, very humble and confident as well). I think he will flourish with Luck. When he's on, you there are no more than 2 receivers who are better. Take your pick.
I'm not a fan of the Odell trade. Histrionics aside, he was the best player they've ever had other than LT. His trade will go down as the worst front office decision in the history of the club.
Ill miss Nicks. This kid was a monster when he was healthy. Big hands and very strong. His YAC and breakaway was huge and was always a threat to take it to the house every catch. Hope he comes back to NYG after a year with the colts
Amazing watching this nicks has to be one of the best contested ball wr ever, doesn't have much separation but release off the line was ridiculous hardly got touched with bump and run. Also shows the trust and accuracy of elis throws the ball would be there the sec broke his route. Amazing video
Nicks was such a refreshing producer. No drama, no antics. Just work. I met tyree on a flight and told him the exact same thing about himself. To me, thats what makes Giants football. Bring your lunch box and get to work!
Colts fans - Proceed with caution. The hakeem nicks that played in 2013 and 2012 is not the hakeem you see in most of these highlights I made. With that said, good luck and if he plays like he did his first 3 years in the league, you have an absolute steal.
I've wanted Nicks since the draft, Polian passed on him to take a RB. Now he's playing for the Shoe, my life is complete. I think he'll revert to form.
Watching this video made me realize how LUCKY Eli was to have Nicks. The organization took him for granted but he was Eli's BEST security blanket, even better than Plax
I was watching the highlights for 2 minutes and I thought it was done. Also amazing. Only to pause and find out there was 20 minutes left. This guy is a steal. Of course he hasn't performed the last 2 years. The giants are inconsistent. They are an amazing team in the playoffs though. But it's even better to think...reggie, ty, hakeem, brazill, darick, fleener, and Dwayne?! that is absolute torture. They have all had their share of star games and to have them all on one team is amazing. Not to mention Arthur jones, dquell, and Mathis on the other side..
As a giants fan I’m so happy I witnessed this man on my team He was such a joy to watch Nicks was so underrated and the duo of Cruz and nicks was so underrated
His specialty seems to be catching the ball in a crowd and he's always aware of where he is. He's difficult to bring down because he's not only big but speedy. The colts got themselves a real live one.
I'm a gmen fan for life but I think this Carolina fan will get his wish. Giants love trading with the panthers, and nicks is a tarheel. He won't forget who got him that ring tho.
you realize that if this kid played up to his potential the Giants might have had a Hakeem Nicks-Victor Cruz-Odell Beckham trio? Nicks is still just 28 years old
lmfao he did play up to his potential. That is why he has a ring and went beast mode in the play offs during that year. Injuries got to him as football is a tough sport. That is why the average football career is like 3 years
AtomicGiraffe He did play to his potential, did you watch seasons at all? His legs were no good and he lost all his speed, consistent hamstring and knee problems will do that, then when he broke a bone in his foot it was the straw the broke that camels back.
Him and Cruze most have been annoying for secondaries, they weren't physically dominate, but they were slippery and broke lots of tackles with good hands and then we had Brandon Jacobs which was also annoying to tackle. I think we just wore teams out, which explains a lot of Eli 4th QT comebacks in 2011.
This... is vintage Nicks, and bro, I have to say, this is the best video you have made, with the KP career video right behind this. You make the best highlights and best career highlight video compilations. I know this one was originally 15 mins. long, so I know you have done some editing and getting every highlight from the 2012 & 2013 Season. This was definitely worth wasting 24 minutes of your life to watch this clip. I don't usually watch long videos, but your videos are the only exception for me. Once again, great video bro, and seriously, I hope the NFL stops actin like b***h and gets off your d**k bro, it's not your fault that you know how to make some classic highlights video and NFL films can't.
20:56 i remember it like it was yesterday week 2 versus the Bucs Nicks gets re-injured on that play, it ruins his season and here we are two years later
He was a beast in Madden. I didn't use the Giants, but I remember playing against people online that used him. That was early 2010s when I was gaming heavy online. At 1 point I think I had nearly 300 games played.
These are the kind of plays I am expecting to see out of Sammy Watkins. Nicks (when he would play to his potential) is who I would always think about when comparing Watkins to a current player. I just hope Watkins can do all that and then some!
if he's coming to the Colts, I hope he revives the beast he was these first 3 years. and not that down year (although it was a down year for the Giants offense in general) he just had. i'm not sure if i'm remembering right, but he was coming off of multiple injuries. anyway, Luck needs a guy like him on the outside. Wayne and TYH are both great and can alternate in the slot. Nicks would be a great addition, on top of that, and our two TE's (Allen and Fleener).
The difference between Eli and Luck for Nicks is that Luck is a better passer than Eli. I believe we will see the Hakeem Nicks that first came in the league with a better team. He is still young and he's going to prove he still one of the top receivers in this league.
why was Eli so fearless when throwing to Nicks. TRUST...He didn't give two fuck if Nicks was open or not. He knew Nicks would come up with it. Dammmittttt whyyyyyy did he have to get hurt..... David Wilson.. Nicks / Cruz. Chad Jones. Kenny Phillips.. beast that never got a chance to shine too long
Eli Manning's accuracy was uncanny and his receivers didn't drop the ball or pop the ball up in the air for INTS. During eli's career i've seen guys drop at least twenty touchdowns
