Check out a ts100 soldering iron. I do alot of soldering for many different things. Can use a lipo to power it or a laptop charger. has a lot of different tip options. Goes up to 450°c. I've had no issues soldering 12 gage wire and really small wires for micro flight controllers. It's like holding a pencil.
hey, man. love the channel. what's your ideal soldering temp for small stuff like 1/28 motor wires/battery connectors/etc? just got into the small stuff, and I'm assuming that i should run a little cooler than i normally do with my 1/5 stuff, right?
I have this model and Weller WE1010NA. I prefer the Weller over Hakko FX-888 any day. It's much more effective for 12awg+. Hakko has better recovery time but did not find it to be an issue. Just my anecdotal experience.
