One of the cornerstone experiences of the fifth grade year is a trip to Hakuba, Nagano. Students discover new skills and adventures through hands-on, explorative learning. Over the three days, students hike, climb, and bike up mountains, learn how to navigate to locations by geocaching and orienteering, and spend a day on the lake in kayaks and canoes. It's a trip that pushes students to learn more about each other and themselves as they step up to challenges and the courage it takes to try new and hard things.
