You make those brushes look so good. I had the g5517 in my cart but ended up not getting it 😖 I figured it would be very stiff but it’s really not. I’m impatiently waiting for my last Hakuhodo order from Fude Japan. great display of brushes!

I had the same thoughts about the G5517 Traci! But it’s quite a surprise! Hahah can’t wait to see what you got! 😘

I love the S120 and S123 which are kolinsky but hakuhodo Japan also has the B120 and B123 that are more budget friendly, if interested.

I was looking into those a few years back, I ended up getting the Weasel versions in S139 and S132. The price of the S120 and S123 were 💸💸💸 hahha

I have the Hakuhodo G 5526, one of my favorite and most used eyeshadow brushes. The shape is quite similar to the Laura Mercier one, only smaller. Maybe it would be worth trying.

Great video. Have you shopped in fudejapan? I like to hear your experience, if so. I am planning to buy some hakuhodo brushes before the price increase.

I actually got this via Fude Japan! This is my second purchase from him and I have no complaints. There is a two week window that you have to wait upon placing. On top of the waiting time when delivered. He has a blog post explaining this. I hope you’ll get the brushes that you need! 😘

@@tortorre Thanks for your quick response and good review of Fude Japan.. I'll read up about the two-week wait. Also, is it cheaper to order from the Japanese Hakuhodo site vs US? I'm trying to find a good place to order all the brushes before the increase. I've been binge-watching all your videos! You are so detailed and awesome.

@@PandasUnlimited aw thanks! I hope you find them useful! 😘🤗 I find it easier to purchase through Fude Japan because the Japanese website of Hakuhodo has deactivated their “English order page” since the pandemic happened. Since I live in the Philippines, ordering from Hakuhodo USA is way too far for me + a lot shipping delays going on there. It’s more logical for my to use Fude Japan at this time. Some brushes are not available for sale at Hakuhodo US due to some limitations on which type of hair is used on a brush. That might have some bearing where you want to purchase your brush. 😉

I have a few of their eye brushes and they are fantastic with my Viseart eyeshadows. Also Esum brushes are synthetic and they work surprise well with my Viseart shadows, unfortunately the brushes are way too large for my small eyelid area.

Which type of hair do you have? I was actually quite surprised on how well they picked up color ( and when I mean well, just the right amount of pigment). In my book, Some eyeshadow brushes that are too big get used for something else - contouring, highlighter, used with setting powder or even blush application. I have seen Michele Wang use Esum brushes. Looks handy, but I have yet to try them.

@@tortorre I have one S 147 which is made of horse hair, I have two of the tapered horse hair G series brushes with the black handles, and I have a G series brush made with blue squirrel and goat hair. Unfortunately I can't find my receipt and the three brushes that don't have the exact brush number, have the serial number wiped off. I haven't considered using my brushes for different purposes if I have trouble with them, that's a good idea. I really do recommend Esum brushes if you just need a decent synthetic eyeshadow brush to just put some eyeshadow on the lid, and then I recommend the Hakuhodo brushes for detail work. Both brushes do an excellent job of picking up dryer eyeshadows and blending them.

@@dawnssful I’m looking at the Esum brushes but unfortunately, since I don’t live in the US, shipping might be an issue for me. It will be on my list though and the next time I visit, I’ll be sure to grab it. I’m actually eyeing a few brushes from the Futr series of Bisyodo. All synthetic and the prices look affordable. I love how that S 147 looks. I’m starting to appreciate those “pencil” types of brushes. They work really well for me. Ever since I used that G5517 brush, I have realized that they work great for matte shadows. The squirrel hairs pick up the right amount and the goat mix helps to buff it out - but without over doing it. I’m liking this mix - not to mention it’s more affordable value. Hahaha

Hello! I have links on the description box to the main website of Hakuhodo and a fude ratiler based in Japan. You might need to ask them first if they ship to you. 😉
